BTP are pleased to be able to offer these 2 separate 1 day sessions with Skills Bridge. Funded by UK Government, these are free sessions and can be booked separately.
If the thought of sitting at a computer, using a keyboard and operating a mouse fills you with dread, this is the course for you. That's on the 30th October.
On the 2nd October, theres an English skills course, aimed at building confidence whilst communicating with colleagues, supervisors etc.
Both courses to be ran by someone familiar with the industry and knows what's expected.
We know your strength lies elsewhere. We appreciate that 'classroom work' and 'office stuff' isn't for you but maybe you'd gain from getting just a little bit of guidance.
These courses have been successfully run in a couple of big Cumbrian Construction firms.
Phone or message us for more details or to sign up.
Whats app/email/office answerphone/FB messenger - we will get back to you as soon as we're in the office.

How table tennis took its place as one of our favourite indoor sports
Table tennis has a long, if often understated, history in Cumbria.

So today is day 4 of our 5-day streetworks course. Its been a joy to listen to the banter and witness the team camaraderie. Lots of laughs. Lots of info shared. Lots of things explained to a humble office worker. Hope that being indoors hasn't been too tedious!
Thanks to all our street workers, often subject to aggression from folk in a hurry. Often subject to adverse weather - heat, rain, cold.
Just getting their PPE on and getting the job done. Nice work! Enjoy tomorrow - the last day of this course. Thinking there might be a pint somewhere, at the end of it! (Thanks too, to our instructor. Doing a fab job)

When the Events Team at WFC asked us to organise an SLG course in Kendal, we were happy to do so.
Some of the attendees were from St Mary's Hospice in Ulverston.
They do a fine job organising some large fundraising events but whilst they have a traffic management company who are in place for any relevant events, they felt it was deemed appropriate that, as some of the staff will be at various parts of the Walk to Remember route (in particular), that they should have some knowledge of what is required should they need to use it. (Like it - good, forward thinking)
We asked ‘give us an example of what you might now do differently, when you go back to work' and here's what they had to say:
* I will check the supplier can deliver a working set of traffic lights!
* I will add more elements of this course when doing a Risk Assessment
* I will be aware of what I need to be aware of, for our event. * The assessor was very knowledgeable and helped us to learn
* Different PPE and order of setting out the signs
* Consider which traffic controls are relevant to our event!
Well done to everyone who sat and passed this course. And good luck with all your fund-raising, in particular the event shown below, which is now fully booked. South Cumbria are very lucky to have this hospice in Ulverston.

Availability for the next 2 months.
However, please ask if there's a course you're interested in doing, perhaps on another date, and if we get enough names, we might run it soon - especially if you've got enough folk and the premises in which to run it. Our assessors are fairly adaptable!
As always, get in touch for more information. Thanks

Factor 50 - and hydrate! Keep safe
(Location? It's an exciting project, South Cumbria)
