Orders large and small going out this morning

🍃We are now open for the 2023 planting season. We have plenty of available stock for native hedge planting schemes. 🍃

🌳🍏🍐New this year, we have decided to stock a range of fruit trees including apples, pears and plums. 🍎🍐🍏

🍃 Preparing our first order of the season for dispatch tomorrow. Some beautiful potted Laurel to form a hedge for a caravan park in south Cumbria. We will shortly be re-opening for the bareroot planting season. Please get in touch if you would like to place a pre-order.🍃

🌳🌲🍃This week, we have a number of mixed (hardwood and softwood) woodland projects going out to be planted in Cumbria and Northumberland. We can't wait to see what these look like in future years. 🌲🌳🍃

📢 CHANGES TO COUNTRYSIDE STEWARDSHIP PAYMENT RATES ANNOUNCED 📢

1️⃣ Capital Grants - Hot off the press this morning, DEFRA have announced that the majority of Countryside Stewardship capital payments will increase from 5th January, with rates up by an average of 48%.

The increased rates will apply to capital agreements applied for on or after 5th January 2023 but will not be backdated.

👉 One to be aware of is the increase in PA3 Woodland Management Plan from £1000 to £1500 🌳

2️⃣ CS Revenue Payments - Both new and existing CS revenue agreement holders will benefit from payment increases of 10% on average, backdated to 1 January 2023.

Revenue rates will remain the same for those in Environmental Stewardship (ES) agreements.

🍃Planting hedges that produce edible berries and nuts adds interest to your hedge as well as offering value to wildlife, including birds, small mammals and pollinators.

Edible hedging varieties we stock include blackthorn, hawthorn, crab, dog rose, hazel and cherry plum. 🍃
