Your children have done so well in the heat this week, but especially today, they really took it in stride!

Thank you for supporting us in sending your child with suncream, water, sunhats, lighter clothing, etc. It all goes a long way to making everyone's day a little more bearable!

Thank you to our wonderful team of staff at PWPS who have followed guidance vigilantly, adapted activities and timetables as needed and done what they can to keep your child comfortable, safe and happy in school during the heat.

Tomorrow is still forecast to be hot, with rain and lightning likely. (I hope you read that in a TV presenter's voice like I did while I typed it...)

There is loads planned, and further information will be released nearer the time.

Expect lots of fun activities, and special guests…

An important message at any time, but during the hotter weather, we know more and more children are seen playing by or in local rivers.

Mr Hills delivered a fantastic assembly today about the importance of wearing a helmet when riding your bike!

This was perfectly timed ahead of the good weather forecast for the school holidays!

⚠️ Sports Day Update ⚠️:
🌧️☔ Unfortunately, due to the weather, we have decided to cancel Sports Day for Nursery, Reception, Year 1 & Year 2.

We know the children were looking forward to it, but everyone’s safety comes first 💙

📅 New Sports Day Dates:

🏃‍♀️ Tuesday 30th June
👶 Nursery: 9:30am – 10:30am on the school field
⚽ Year 1 & Year 2: 1:45pm – 3:00pm on the school field

🏃‍♂️ Wednesday 1st July
🌟 Reception: 9:30am – 10:30am on the school field

🌦️ For now, Sports Day for Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 will still be going ahead. We are keeping a close eye on the weather, as conditions are slightly different on the top pitch area, which does not become as waterlogged.

A huge well done to our amazing Year 6 pupils for their hard work and determination during their SATs this week!

We are beyond proud of every single one of them, and you should be too!
