🌈 CURRENT PARENTS — WE NEED YOUR OPINION! 🌈

We’re currently looking at ways we can make communication with our Rainbow families even better, and one option we’re considering is introducing a childcare app. 📱

The app would allow us to provide personal daily updates about your child, giving you information about their day all together in one place.

However, these apps come at a significant cost to the setting, so before we make the investment, we want to know whether it’s something our parents would actually like and use.

Uniform is completely optional and is NOT compulsory — it’s simply available for families who would like their little Rainbow to have one. 🌈

🌈 RAINBOW CHILDMINDING 🌈

Our latest Rainbow Childminding Newsletter will be heading home with the children this week — a copy is also below for you to have a read. 💕🌈

The children are continuing to absolutely love being outdoors and making the most of the space we’ve created for them. 🌿🛝☀️

It’s been another very busy weekend behind the scenes, getting more jobs finished ready for our big move back into the cabin! 🏡🌈

Since returning from our holiday 6 weeks ago, Mark and I honestly haven’t stopped since we stepped off the plane in Newcastle! Every spare moment after work and at weekends has been spent working on the garden and cabin, trying to make the whole space more accessible, practical and enjoyable for the children.

We have the electrician coming tomorrow, and once that work is completed, we can finally start moving back into the cabin! 🎉

We are then just waiting for the parts to arrive for our new all-weather outdoor shelter. This will give the children even more opportunities to enjoy outdoor play throughout the year — whatever the British weather decides to throw at us! ☔️🌦️🍂

As always, everything we do and every improvement we make is about giving our little Rainbows the best possible environment to play, explore, learn and grow. 🌈❤️

🎤🎶 Imagination Takes Centre Stage! 🎶💃

Yesterday our little Rainbows showed us just how wonderful child-led play can be! 🌈✨

The steps leading up to the cabin were transformed into their very own stage, where the children sang, danced and put on a fantastic performance. 🎤💃🕺

They even raided the play kitchen for utensils, turning them into their very own guitars! 🎸🥄

It was lovely to watch their imaginations take over as they created their own ideas, expressed themselves through music and movement, and enjoyed performing together. 💕

Sometimes the simplest resources lead to the biggest adventures! 🌟

Hey all, hope your all well. We’ve been super busy settling in our 3 new starters and and welcoming back our term time children. We’ve neglected sharing our days with you but we’re trying to change that!

The cabin move is still in progress and we’re just about there, we are waiting on our electrician coming next week to hook us back up! Then a couple of little jobs and build our new kitchen and we’ll be in!

We have loved the support everyone has given us recently with the baby and children’s awards and we’re just waiting to see if we’ve reached the final so keep everything 🤞 the recommendations and all enquiries we’ve had has been phenomenal and we are grateful for each and everyone of them (and still get enquiries daily) but unfortunately we are full to bursting until September next year.
Please try to plan ahead if you’re needing childcare for September 2027 we hate letting parents and children down when we have no space.

Here’s a photo peek of the last 2 weeks and we’ll update today’s photos later today. We do try our best to capture each day but sometimes playing and interacting with the children take priority and we don’t always have a phone or tablet to hand.

We are so pleased to hear it’s staying open throughout autumn and winter, we’ll have somewhere to get a snack and drink when we’re out on our adventures 🥰

☕️🍦 WE’RE HERE TO STAY! 🍦☕️

With the summer holidays coming to an end, we’ve had lots of people asking about our opening hours and whether Hammond’s Pond Cafe will be closing for winter in October.

Well, we’re very happy to say… NO! 🥳❤️

Hammond’s Pond Cafe is open 9am–5pm, 7 days a week, and we will NOT be closing for the winter! 🎉

We know Hammond’s Pond Cafe has traditionally been a seasonal cafe, so we just wanted to reassure everyone that you can still pop in for your favourite coffee, an ice cream, a bite to eat or a sweet treat throughout the autumn and winter months. ☕️🍰🍦

So when the kids go back to school, don’t forget about us! We’ll be right here, open every day. 🥰

Yesterday we had a rare day off, due to some children still on holiday, a child injuring themselves at home and staying off to rest and being able to swap another child’s day so they weren’t in on their own.
So Helen made the most of the quiet time and got on with some important admin work that normally gets done after hours and sorted some things ready for our new starters next week. All children (well their parents) have some important paperwork to fill in for us. The main one that’s the most important is the ‘all about me’ so we know what sort of things you like/don’t like and how to keep you calm if you get upset. Then there the boring bits like contracts and funding entitlement forms.
All the other children will also be getting a form to film in to make sure all the contact details for emergencies are up to date as well as an updated funding entitlement form to fill in next week as we need these to make sure nothing has changed.
Still lots for Helen to get on this weekend while also finishing off bits in the cabin.
