Another 100 Acre a wood weekly round up! This week we visited Carlisle and the museum of the moon exhibition; the children were an absolute credit to the school. We’ve also been enjoying some conker fun in class - building conker runs, fishing them from the water and using them for pattern making. This week our Teddy Champions Positive Pedro and Resilient Rebecca have gone home with Theo (for a super positive attitude to learning) and Maella (for resilience with her writing) 👏👏

Congratulations to Mrs Wright for 20 years’ service to our school. I’m sure you’d agree she is the backbone of the school and is always there to support our children and families. We are very lucky to have her here at Great Orton. Thank you Mrs Wright for all you’ve done and will continue to do! 💕👏🥇

A wonderful week starting to learn all about the autumn season. We got to enjoy a trip to Orton Moss on Thursday too to explore the area at the beginning of the season (we will return in the winter to compare). This week Phoebe takes home Rebecca the Teddy Champion for fantastic resilience all week!

Another fabulous week in 100 Acre Wood. We have focused this week on our community: walking into the village and coming back to recreate what we found. We also completed a postal game using our knowledge of number. This week’s Teddy Champions are: Harper for constant positivity, Erin for independence and Freddie for persevering.

Today, Kensuke’s Kingdom headed into the woods to explore and collect some wonderful autumnal treasures! 🍁🍃

While we were there, we enjoyed a cheerful sing-along, climbed trees, worked together as a team and used our critical-thinking skills as we explored the woodland.

There was lots of laughter, teamwork and adventure along the way, and most importantly, we all had a thoroughly good time! 😊🌲🍂

A fabulous second full week in 100 Acre Wood looking at our families and the homes we live in. The reception children wrote their first sentences and Year 1 mixed colours independently to create a family portrait. This week the Teddy Champions go to : Max (for independence at swimming), Archie (for resilience at swimming) and Roland (for perseverance in phonics). 👏👏👏
