"Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened"
I have just finished teaching my last weekly class after 18 years of teaching weekly classes.
Due to work and family commitments, unfortunately classes won't resume after Easter 😞
It's been a really tough decision and I'm so sad I won't see those happy, smiley faces that have brightened up my evenings/ days over the years so I've been trying to cheer myself up by reminding myself of all of the things I am grateful for. So here goes
🎭 The many, many children and families I have got to know over the years
🎭 My wonderful drama family- colleagues and parents
🎭 My vast collection of drama pens!
🎭 To have had the chance to be silly and creative every week
🎭 To have been lucky enough to teach a programme that goes way beyond just acting and performing but celebrates and nurtures each child for the individual they are
🎭The chances and opportunities to develop and build my skills
🎭 The in- jokes with my classes. The student that manages to be an inanimate object in every scene and the 'chair-ble'!
🎭 The memories and good times of which there are countless which I will take with me and which will stay with me forever ❤️
I want to say a huge thank you to Gabriella my lovely classroom assistant and former student who has made the last year even more fun.
To the parents and caregivers who have been beyond supportive and so, so kind and many of whom I am lucky enough to now count as friends.
To my own family who have been roped into all sorts of 'helping' over the years 😂 My Mum and my husband and my children have been my biggest supporters ❤️
And to the children and young people in my recent classes and way before that too. You have been the reason I have done what I have done for so long ❤️
This chapter has come to an end but my goodness what a rich, full, rewarding, fun, memorable chapter it has been. I love a good quote so will leave you with this...
"How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard "

On this day and everyday look after yourself (your whole self), look after each other, reach out if things are difficult- there is someone who will listen. Breathe... Slow down and be kind to yourself 💕

🎭 our first couple of weeks back have been wonderful!
🎭 A new day and time for our Carlisle class
🎭 Lots of lovely new faces and lovely regular faces
🎭 Creativity in abundance and so many brilliant drama skills- we've missed the bus, travelled on a mysterious train, been robots, surgeons, won Oscars for weird and wonderful films, had a motorbike race, been in a carnival and visited a waxworks museum with a difference! And we've only been back 2 weeks!
🎭Places are still available at our Wigton and Carlisle classes for any budding actors or for anyone who wants to have fun and increas their confidence 💕
REMINDER!! No classes ar Carlisle tonight as I'm away on a training course.
Back to normal next week 😊

🎭 what a day! Productions at Carlisle were just wonderful- what a fabulous bunch of kids and young people. They worked so hard after a long and hot day in the theatre. So entertaining, having fun and beautifully behaved. So proud of you all
