Congratulations to our girls football team who came 1st in the small schools 7-aside competition today. This means they have now qualified for the district finals in late November. Huge thanks also to Mr Little for leading some training sessions and managing the girls today at the competition. 🏆

We’re asking for views on possible changes to home-to-school transport for young people with special educational needs and disabilities who are in Year 12 or above. This is known as post-16 transport. It supports young people who continue in education or training, usually at a college or sixth form.

No decisions have been made, and your feedback will be considered before any final decision is taken. The consultation closes on 20 November 2026.

This afternoon, Elterwater took part in a variety of activities linked to “The Little Red Hen”. They made bread and stick puppets, as well as sorting shapes and role play! They had lots of fun 🤩.

🏃‍➡️ The Targeted Short Breaks registration window is now open! Eligible families have until 30 October 2026 to register to access Targeted Short Break activities from 1 February 2027 - 31 January 2028. 🏃‍➡️

🤸‍♂️ A reminder that all families must register within this window if they wish to access Targeted Short Break activities, including those who are currently registered. This is to ensure our eligible cohort is up to date and hours are reset. 🤸‍♂️

Our current eligibility criteria is below.

Your child or young person must:

📧 You can also email the service at: [email protected]. The registration window will close on 31 October 2026.

You will be informed if your child/ young person is eligible for the Targeted Short Breaks service as quickly as the team are able following registration; this will be before the end of November, or earlier wherever possible. This will be via email, which will confirm your child’s eligibility and information on how to book if they are eligible.

We will open another registration window in May 2027 for those who have missed out on the October window, or become eligible after October.

❗ Important to note: For an initial period within the Short Breaks year, which runs from 1 February 2027 - 31 January 2028, there will only be activities available provided by Sportworks in Carlisle. The Short Breaks team are working hard to review our providers and more activities will be available for the Summer Holidays in more areas across Cumberland.
