Year 5 children attended the Manchester United Foundation and RRCA RESPECT DAY yesterday. The children enjoyed the whole day!!!!

The wellbeing champions and one of our school council leaders have been working so hard this half term to revamp our pod. They have created a sensory pod and garden which children will be able to use next year!

A huge thanks to the PTA, parents for donations and Carlisle Brass for their donations towards items and to our wonderful children for their hardwork this half term. Well done! ⭐

🌋 Maple Class Volcano Project 🌋

Over the past few days, Maple Class has been busy designing and creating their own volcanoes! This exciting project has linked together different areas of our learning.

As part of our Geography topic, Why do people live near volcanoes?, the children explored the features of volcanoes and why people choose to live in volcanic regions despite the risks. They then used their knowledge in Science to investigate how volcanoes erupt, while applying their creativity and practical skills through Art and Design & Technology to design and build their own volcanoes.

Today, all of their hard work came together as they watched their volcanoes erupt! 🌋 The children were so excited to see their creations come to life, and it was wonderful to see them using the knowledge they have gained across the curriculum.

Well done, Maple Class. You've been fantastic geographers, scientists, artists and designers! 👏✨

🎻 What a wonderful celebration of music at our school! 🎻

Our talented violinists gave a fantastic performance for the whole school, and it was made even more special by the attendance of their proud parents and families.

The children performed brilliantly, showing confidence, dedication, and a real love of music.

Their hard work and enthusiasm shone through in every piece, and they should be extremely proud of what they achieved.

A huge thank you to Corinne Redman-Stewart their violin teacher, the children played beautifully.

In Science, Year 6 had a great time making 'blood' smoothies after learning about the different components of blood and the special function of each part.

Gladis Baker Gladiator!

Our Yr 5&6 summer performance of Gladis Baker Gladiator was certainly one to remember! The story of orphan Gladis, who escapes the clutches of her horrid aunt and uncle by winning the Great Roam Bake-Off! You got to 'bake' it to make it, and the children certainly surpassed all expectations! Their performances were utterly fantastic!
