🐍 Phonics fun this week! 🧦✨

We’ve been learning the letter S — practising the sound with socks, snakes and scarves! 🐍🧦🧣

We had lots of fun making S sounds, spotting things that start with S, and even dancing with our scarves! 💃🎶

🐝✨ What a brilliant week at The Learning Loft! ✨🐛

This week we’ve been learning all about the letter I — for Insects! 🐞🦋🐜

We’ve had lots of phonics fun, learning through play, exploring sounds and enjoying everything The Learning Loft has to offer. 💛

📚 We still have a few spaces available at our 11:15am session.

📚And for our little learners aged 5–6 years, we have just 2 spaces left in our after-school 4–5pm session:

🔤 40 minutes of focused phonics catch-up
🏡 20 minutes of play in our cosy home-play area
🥛 Plus a delicious Beeches Farm milkshake & shortbread included! 🍪

A lovely way to build confidence with phonics while having lots of fun along the way. 🌈

🕤 9:30–10:45am – Ages 2–4 years
🕚 11:15am–12:30pm – Ages 2–4 years
🕓 4:00–5:00pm – Year 1 children (5–7 years)

Each session includes:

Our fun, small-group sessions are designed to build confidence while revising the digraphs and trigraphs they need to know for the Year 1 phonics test.

📚 40 minutes of focused phonics
🔤 Revise and practise digraphs & trigraphs
🎭 20 minutes of role play to develop speaking and listening skills
👧 Small groups for personalised support
📅 Every Thursday | 4:00–5:00pm
💷 £10 per session (block booking)

At Simple Sounds, learning is fun, engaging and confidence-building. Whether your child needs a little extra practice or wants to feel fully prepared for the phonics check, these sessions are the perfect boost.

This week we explored the letter S in phonics! We practised the /s/ sound and had so much fun finding words that begin with S, including snake 🐍, spider 🕷️, and superheroes 🦸.

Through games, stories, and hands-on activities, our little learners are building confidence with letter recognition and early reading skills—one sound at a time! 💛

📚✨ New Phonics Classes Starting September! ✨📚

We’re excited to announce that we’re adding extra phonics classes on Thursdays.
9.30am — limited spaces available!

Our classes will now be held in our brand-new purpose-built learning loft, a welcoming space designed to help children learn, grow and build confidence in their early reading skills. 🌟

We’re also introducing a Phonics Booster Class for Year 1 children who would benefit from a little extra practice and support with digraphs and trigraphs — helping them to secure their phonics knowledge and become confident readers.

Spaces are already filling quickly, so please get in touch to reserve your child’s place. 💛
