Due to our children taking a big interest in our two stories… ‘The crayons save our planet’ which then lead onto ‘The life of a little plastic bottle’. We have taken this opportunity to learn all about recycling and why we do it.
The children have kindly donated recycling from home which the children have then learnt the difference in items and which box they belong in and why.
Today Natalie set up a recycling centre on our front, this encouraged the children to pick up rubbish which we had dotted around the car park and put it in the correct recycling boxes. The children were great at getting involved and very good at ensuring the correct items went in the correct recycling boxes. Well done our little helpers! ♻️
We had a very kind lady donate some wonderful books to our nursery setting this morning. Which we are really grateful for.
We are always on the look out for new books, but especially now we are extending our nursery setting . If people could please keep us in mind for any future donations, we would be very appreciative. ☺️🥰

Today we headed down to the local fruit and veg shop on our street to purchase some more fruit for our daily snacks. The children helped choose which fruit they would like to taste and watermelon was a definite choice, because this is a HUGE hit in our setting at the moment. But sadly there were no bananas left, the children said the monkeys had got eaten them all! 🙈
The children did great counting and handling the pennies over to pay. Over all a great little afternoon outing.

Yesterday when we arrived at nursery we had a surprise visitor in our garden! A Hedgehog! 🦔
The hedgehog was hiding in one of our tires. How he got there is a huge mystery to all of us.🙈😅
We decided the best idea was to ask for some advice to ensure the hedgehog was safe and happy. Knox woods asked us to set the hedgehog free at night in a woodland area.
After the children got to observe the hedgehog and ask lots of variety of questions, we placed the hedgehog in our outside bark shed to keep him safe, this was until we could release him on the evening. Thank you Sarah for taking the responsibility of looking after him!
The children named the hedgehog Spike, which did then change to prickly 🙊🦔
They did want to keep him at nursery, but after plenty of explaining they knew it was best for him to be set free.
We hope Spike is happy and we are thankful he choose our nursery to have a little visit 🥰

Today we invited parent's for an Easter stay and play. We enjoyed creating some brilliant Easter crafts including sticking and gluing, alongside easter playdough chicks. Our children really enjoyed working together to find the hidden Easter eggs around our nursery 🐣😊🐣 Happy Easter everybody!
