🌿💚 Wellbeing in Bloom at Toadhall Montessori Crèche 💚🌿

Today our garden was transformed into a wonderful wellbeing space, where the children explored different ways to care for themselves and others through play.

Our Foot Spa gave the children the opportunity to enjoy a calming sensory experience, while our Relaxation Station offered a peaceful space to unwind, rest, and enjoy quiet moments together. At our Hydration Station, the children learned the importance of drinking water to keep their bodies healthy and strong.

We also enjoyed caring for our dolls by gently washing them and applying cream, helping to develop empathy, kindness, and nurturing skills through imaginative play.

These meaningful experiences support children's physical, emotional, and social wellbeing while encouraging independence, compassion, and healthy lifelong habits.

💚 At Toadhall Montessori Crèche, we believe that caring for ourselves, caring for others, and connecting with nature are all important parts of growing and learning.

Today our crèche children enjoyed a visit to the river, exploring nature by throwing rocks into the water. 🪨💦

Outdoor learning encourages curiosity, develops coordination, builds confidence, and helps children learn through hands-on experiences. Another wonderful day of exploring the world around us! 🌿🍃

⚠️ WARNING - ARTIFICIAL GRASS! ⚠️

Do you have, or are you considering getting artificial grass in your garden? One thing to bear in mind, particularly if you have pets or little ones running around barefoot in the summer, is just how hot artificial turf can get because it can cause BURNS.

❗️As this image shows, artificial grass will heat up way more than natural grass and as it doesn’t have the same natural cooling effect as real grass, it can stay hotter for longer, too, making it a burn hazard for little feet.

🔆 The heat can depend on what type of artificial grass you have installed and how/when it was laid. Some have temperature moderation technology reflecting and dissipating heat into the atmosphere.

⚠️ So be aware, check your artificial lawn to see if it is safe to walk on without footwear. 🔥

💦 AND DON'T FORGET FIRST AID FOR BURNS:-

All burns for babies, children or adults must be treated with:-

✅COOL/TEPID
✅RUNNING WATER
✅FOR 20 MINS! ❗️

‼️If this is your friends/ family’s first summer with a baby please consider sharing this post with them to raise awareness!

💚 Also, consider attending a local 2 hour Mini First Aid class to ensure you’re confident in all first aid emergencies with babies and children.

What a fantastic day at Barry Island Beach! 🌊☀️🏖️

The babies from Toadhall Montessori Crèche had a wonderful time enjoying a beach school adventure by the sea. From feeling the sand between their toes to exploring natural treasures along the shoreline, there were so many opportunities for learning, discovery, and fun.

Days like these help little ones connect with nature, build confidence, and create lasting memories through hands-on experiences. ❤️

📚✨ Library Adventure! ✨📚

Today, our Toadhall Montessori crèche children enjoyed a wonderful visit to the library. The babies had the opportunity to explore books, listen to stories, and discover a world full of imagination and learning.

It was lovely to see their curiosity grow as they turned pages, looked at colourful pictures, and enjoyed the calm and welcoming library environment. Experiences like these help foster a love of books and early literacy from a young age.

A big thank you to the library staff for making our visit so enjoyable. We can’t wait for our next adventure! 💕📖

We have been celebrating world ocean day today , where we have had a discussion about the sea and sealife, we have talked about keeping the ocean clean and not putting plastic in the ocean, we have completed an water activity where we saved the sea animals by using the tweezers to collect all the plastic , followed by sea life, ocean stories 🐟🐠🦭🐬🐋🐳🦈🐙🦀🐚🪼🪸🪸🌊🌊🌊

Our babies at Toadhall Montessori Crèche enjoyed a lovely walk to the park today for a mini Forest School session! 🌿🍃 The children explored different plants, discovered the sights and sounds of nature, and were fascinated watching the tractor cut the grass. 🚜 A wonderful morning of outdoor learning, curiosity, and fresh air! ☀️💚
