More Home Nation action tonight in the FIFA World Cup, but our Year 7 & 8 Girls have already been collecting silverware of their own.

Smaller net, and a different set of skills but representing us as the Charlotte Hornets at the Jr Basketball Wales Finals, the team went unbeaten throughout the tournament before securing an 18-8 win in the final.

Across the whole day the girls showed exactly what got them to the final: teamwork and keeping their heads under pressure πŸ€

Jr NBA Wales Champions 2026 - slam dunk.

Good luck tonight to the Tartan Army 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Never mind how many 'Good Lucks' you can fit on a shirt. Look how much you've packed into the last five years.

All you've achieved. The teams. The productions. Clubs and competitions. The friends. And the mark you've made.

And now, with a pen, on those shirts.

We want to tell you how incredibly proud we are of you and how excited we are for everything that is still ahead.

Have fun next Thursday – you've earned it πŸͺ©

Today is Autistic Pride Day alongside Learning Disability Week.

Autism is not a learning disability. But around 1 in 3 autistic people also have a learning disability.

We've spoken before about adapting classrooms and learning environments so students can learn in ways that work best for them. Check out our Challenge Accepted or Adapt to Learn posts from earlier in the year.

But today is about celebrating the talents of people who see the world differently.

Here's three who have done exactly that πŸ‘‡

Who inspires you? πŸ’¬

England kicking off their FIFA World Cup campaign tonight might have the nation's attention right now but a little closer to home, we're still celebrating our footballing successes at the Cardiff & Vale SFA Cup Finals.

πŸ† Year 7 Boys - WINNERS
πŸ† Year 7 Girls - RUNNERS UP
πŸ† Year 8A Girls - WINNERS
πŸ† Year 9 Boys - PLATE WINNERS
πŸ† Year 9 Girls - RUNNERS UP
πŸ† KS4 Girls - WINNERS
πŸ† Year 10 Boys - WINNERS
πŸ† Year 11 Boys - WINNERS

An amazing score sheet from the cup final season.

Well done to every player who pulled on a LHS shirt and represented the school this year. Some brilliant football, plenty of commitment and a trophy cabinet any of the World Cup Home Nation Teams would be proud of.

Enjoy the summer of sport - who knows, one day you could be the reason Wales qualify 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Spatulas down. Ovens off. Aprons on a boil wash.

Service please. Stepping up to the kitchen pass are your finalists:

πŸ₯— Lilly
πŸ₯— Payton-Rae
πŸ₯— Emily
πŸ₯— Isobela

The standard was high, with some really inventive recipes. Certainly not the flower we expected to see across the work surfaces... but will next week's signature dish see them boil over?

Well done everyone who took part. Just one last cook-off before we crown our Master Chef 2026 πŸ§‘β€πŸ³

You might not always know when someone is struggling.

They still joke around. Still hand homework in on time.

But we should check-in with people. Talk to the person who sits on their own in class – just a 'how you doing?'. Knock for a friend on your way to school.

And if you're feeling a bit disconnected, don't be too proud to raise your hand or maybe try something new.

Our Enrichment Programme gives you the chance to meet different people outside of your usual circle.

Like Paddle Boarding at Lisvane And Llanishen Reservoirs with Dwr Cymru Welsh Water. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon. And turns out some of the best conversations happen out on the water water🌊

Choosing your activities for next term opens Monday 29 June at 5 PM - why not dip your toe in, and test the water with something different next year πŸ’

Quarter finals done.

Some rose magnificently, some needed emotional support from the judges. The muffins that is.

🧁 Amelie
🧁 Lilly
🧁 Peyton-Rae
🧁 Isobela
🧁 Sam
🧁 Maria

🧁 Emily

G19 surfaces wiped down ready for the next challenge... a salad that MUST contain a hot ingredient. We'll let you decide if that means hot and spicy 🌢️

Chefs you have a week.

And well done to all our bakers. Mrs Pettit and Mrs Parry are both on a sugar high that will carry them through to the weekend πŸ˜‹

Mrs Parry needs your help.

Not in choosing footwear. That decision was made when she signed up for the Cardiff Half Marathon in October πŸ™Œ

What she could do with is:

πŸ‘Ÿ Your best training tips
πŸ’¬ Words of encouragement
πŸ’™ And, if you’re able, a donation to a great cause.

Mrs Parry is hoping to raise Β£2,000 for Llamau, a charity supporting young people facing homelessness and those most at risk of it.

After all, everyone deserves somewhere safe to call home.

So, if you spot our Head hobbling though the corridors in the next few months, don’t forget to give her a cheer.

You can learn more about Llamau through their 2024/25 Impact Report πŸ‘‡

We’ll keep you updated on Mrs Parry’s progress. And if you’d like to support her fundraising, you can donate here πŸ‘‡
