Today is my birthday, and what a great gift from you all of another fully booked course 💚 I naively thought that our next Cardiff Bay course wouldn’t get booked up due to the Easter holidays…but oh did you prove me wrong! That will be another 12 parents, grandparents & parents-to-be trained in life-saving skills, ready to help their child if they ever need it. Well done everyone for taking that step! 👏

A lot of parents are worried about MenB at the moment, after seeing the news in Kent. Most babies & children have more protection than we do as adults, so take a scroll for some cautious reassurance & symptoms to look out for ➡️

HELLO B***S. 👋🏻 B***s. Booboos. Breasts. Tatas. Mammaries. The girls. Chesticles? Let’s desensitise ourselves.

People are noticeably more uncomfortable training on a female manikin, and it’s because we’re not used to seeing them. We’re not used to hearing these things being talked about so freely.

From now on, if you train with , you will be trained on both male and female manikins. You’ll be fully prepared to save a life, no matter who they are.

Would you know what to do? 🤰🩹

Performing CPR on a pregnant woman requires one vital adjustment to protect both mother and baby. The key phrase I want you to remember? 🤰 Raise the right, lay on the left. 🤰

By placing a cushion or folded towel under her right side, you ensure she is tilted onto her left. This keeps the weight of the uterus off the inferior vena cava (IVC)—the body’s largest vein.

Preserving this blood flow is essential for oxygenation and protects both lives in an emergency.

🚨 Place a support (towel, handbag, etc.) under her right side.

🚨 Ensure she is securely tilted to her left.

🚨 Perform the usual CPR sequence.

Share this post—it’s a simple tip that could save two lives.

Don’t let my modesty be the reason I don’t make it home. 💚

It’s February (Heart Month!) and while we’re talking about love, we need to have a very serious talk about survival.

Did you know that in the UK, women are significantly less likely to receive bystander CPR than men? 23% less! It sounds like a statistic from a different century, but it’s happening right now.

🚨 BUT WHY? 🚨

According to a 2024 study by St John Ambulance, the hesitation comes down to a fear of “inappropriate touching” or the need to remove a woman’s bra to use a defibrillator.

The reality is devastating:

👉 1/3 of Brits are afraid to give CPR to a woman because they are worried about touching breasts.

👉 46% of men and 31% of women say they’d feel uncomfortable using an AED on a woman because the bra has to be removed.

👉 Your chance of survival with chest compressions alone is around 8%, but using an AED within 3–5 minutes can increase survival rates by up to 70%.

✂️ Cut it off. Save a life.

To use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) effectively, the pads must be placed on bare skin. Bras and clothing interfere in a multitude of ways.

This is why most AED kits come with a pair of scissors.

If you see a woman in cardiac arrest:

🚨 Call 999.

🚨 Start CPR.

🚨 Use the AED. Do not hesitate to cut the bra away. Saving a life is your absolute priority (and will also be hers!).

📢 Share this to save a life. Tag friends to make them aware. We have to change something.

A child dies of choking every 5 days. It’s an awful statistic to read, isn’t it? My own daughter had a serious choking episode, and most parents will say they’ve at least had that moment of panic. Are they choking? Gagging? Do I need to intervene?

One of the biggest pieces of feedback I’ve had about my classes is they stop the PANIC. Parents come away feeling confident and at ease, knowing they can correctly identify when they need to intervene, and the exact moment when they need to call 999.

2 hours is all it takes, and you can feel that way too. 💚

January is FULLY BOOKED, and February is 75% full! Don’t risk not learning how to save your little one’s life, it’s way too important.
