AND Training Ltd

It's my first day back in the office this year and I've been reflecting on everything I've achieved in 2018, AND Training's 5th year in business.

I spent part of the year in London, part in Cardiff and part in Limoges and was lucky enough to travel to Stockholm, Malta, Gibraltar, Milan, Paris and Berlin. In addition to an LMS implementation, another LMS overhaul, a new employee onboarding project and writing a book - 2018 saw me being commissioned to write 48 training courses for a variety of clients.

Some were accredited, some classroom-based, some webinar and some e-learning. Some were delivered by me, most were delivered by my clients own training teams. I loved being able to work on such a wide variety of projects and subjects, and I'm proud of every single course.

This month marks five years of being in business for AND Training.

I remember that moment five years ago, hovering over my mobile phone convincing myself I was making the right decision telephoning my boss to hand in my notice to a job I loved, was good at, with a team I adored. I am so fortunate that not only was it the right decision, but I've been asked back to work with that same team multiple times as a consultant over the past five years.

I've developed a core group of amazing clients and have established myself as an expert in training course development, project management and LMS implementations. I am so, so proud of the work I've done over the past five years. There's nothing like being 100% responsible for every word, image, decision or line of data to make sure that you always keep learning and stay at the top of your game.

Thank you to every client, those who recommended me, every person who gave me advice along the way (and even those who gave me terrible advice!) - every lesson and experience has been invaluable.

Very fortunate that this work takes me to some beautiful locations. Today - Malta.

Lots of e-learning organisations talk about gamification of learning, and I've always thought it was the latest buzzword that didn't mean anything in real terms.

Then I found myself, in bed, at 11.30pm last night on my DuoLingo app trying to clock enough minutes learning French to maintain my 11-day streak.

Today I'll be reviewing a current clients e-learning and considering building a competitive element.

The new website for AND Training went live today, I've been trading for just over three years now and always find it difficult to describe what I do, as "I'm a Learning & Development consultant" doesn't mean anything to anyone who doesn't already know. My old website was full of content, examples and case studies but it always felt like overkill.

When Craig from Shopish (www.shopish.co.uk) offered to build me a new website, I asked for a something contemporary, on one page, really simple with as little content as possible.

Great week in AND Training towers.

I spent three days working with a regular client choosing e-learning to progress their workforce, I was one of two 'inspirational women' asked to speak to a group of undergraduates on the Sprint programme at Surrey University and attended a womans entrepreneurship event in Cardiff.

After all that, I wonder what next week will bring?

This week we are launching a LMS for a client that we have procured, populated and tested. There's nothing more exciting than a 'go live' date!
