As part of Refugee Week, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) learners from Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2 courses came together in the classroom in Swansea to share their memories of home.
Learners selected a picture from home that held special meaning to them. The images were printed and mounted onto coloured card, before learners wrote a short description explaining the significance of their chosen picture and the memories it represented.
Several learners then shared their stories and memories with the wider group, providing an opportunity to practise their English speaking and listening skills while reflecting on and sharing the diverse experiences, cultures and backgrounds within our learning community.
The activity encouraged reflection, discussion and connection, highlighting the many different ways that people define and experience "home".

Fel rhan o Wythnos Ffoaduriaid, daeth dysgwyr ESOL (Saesneg i Siaradwyr Ieithoedd Eraill) o gyrsiau Mynediad 3, Lefel 1 a Lefel 2 ynghyd yn yr ystafell ddosbarth yn Abertawe i rannu eu hatgofion o gartref.
Dewisodd y dysgwyr lun o gartref oedd ag ystyr arbennig iddynt. Argraffwyd y delweddau a'u gosod ar gerdyn lliw, cyn i'r dysgwyr ysgrifennu disgrifiad byr yn egluro arwyddocâd eu llun dewisol a'r atgofion roedd yn eu cynrychioli.
Yna rhannodd nifer o ddysgwyr eu straeon a'u hatgofion gyda'r grŵp ehangach, gan roi cyfle iddynt ymarfer eu sgiliau siarad a gwrando Saesneg wrth fyfyrio ar y profiadau, a rhannu’r diwylliannau a'r cefndiroedd amrywiol o fewn ein cymuned ddysgu.
Roedd y gweithgaredd yn annog myfyrdod, trafodaeth a chysylltiad, gan amlygu'r nifer o wahanol ffyrdd mae pobl yn diffinio ac yn profi "cartref".

On Friday 5 June 2026, the Caerphilly branch visited two historic venues in Newport.
The first stop was to see the conservation work being carried out on Newport’s medieval ship, followed by a visit to Tredegar House for lunch and an enjoyable afternoon exploring the house and its beautiful gardens.
