Days off recently have been really lovely-
Here I am at Llansteffan beach, the perfect start to the day
It’s deserted and so beautiful 😍
Me with my girl ready for our visit to the brilliant British Bird of Prey Centre in Carmarthen
Me with Rusty the Barn Owl, fantastic experience!
Another good looking owl at the flying show
Making crème de cassis for a very special occasion
Eating a couple of my favourite dishes- special fried rice with fried egg and crispy chilli and prawn oil
Handmade burgers, romesco and a fab bun
A yummy tomato and olive salad
The essential thrice cooked chips
Baked a cake for someone special
Picked beautiful hydrangeas from my garden.
I am off today after a manic past week, so am dreaming up the next things to do.
Oh, and catching up on my favourite radio show!

Tune in to BBC Radio 4 tomorrow morning at 10.30am and hear us literally melting over the airwaves on one of the hottest 🔥🥵☀️days this year! However, the hospitality was great, we were well looked after by Barney and his team . As always, great fun to see the gang, and chat molasses, crayfish 🦞 and lots of other ingredients in the mix.

Enjoying a lazy Sunday morning with Mr. Fox ahead of everyone arriving home later this afternoon. So whilst it is beautifully tranquil, I am
catching up on some reading, starting with this lovely treat from Style of the City Magazine. Rosie Harris, the magazine’s founder and editor in chief has created a fabulous mix of lifestyle features that inform and inspire. In the latest issue there is a great focus on the independent fashion retailers in The Vale, including , that I plan to visit very soon. Another gem that caught my eye was Môr a sawna, that is definitely a place I want to be, especially after a gruelling week on my feet, the heat and the view will be the perfect antidote to a tired, aching bod!

Oh, and just before I sign off, yours truly contributes regularly to the magazine sharing recipes and my culinary wisdom. It is always such a delight to be involved with Rosie and team, they have created something very special for their ever increasing readership 👏👏👏You can view the full current issue at www.styleofthecity

Loving today! I am at home, and everyone is out, I have to admit it is utter bliss!
My kitchen is closed following a mad few days cooking a feast for guests.
It’s such a rare treat to have a weekend off! So I have been making the most of the quietness, just popped into the garden for a spot of hydrangea culling, they have gone nuts, popping up everywhere. I am just loving them, so brought a load into the house.
Next, a cup of coffee, some chocolate and then back to writing, I am now 18,000 words in, and there’s no stopping me now.
I am aiming for around 60,000 words, but there is still so much to fit in! It may turn out to be a trilogy 😂

Super proud of this guy here. My brother Nigel Lloyd, also known as the Butter Boffin, who is in charge of making the best salted butter in the world.
A little bias perhaps, but is made from 100% Welsh milk, using a traditional recipe it now has national status 🌟👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼. Such an achievement for our family business based in Caerphilly.
Here he is manning the stand on Wednesday. Castle Dairies were proud sponsors of the Prue Leith event which was brilliant.
This year the company celebrates its 60th year, with 3 generations of family supporting it.
Obviously the butter is always in my kitchen, we love the spreadable for convenience, but adore the block with sea salt, 😋 I have used the butter in our classes and events, and I always feel a little pang of pride when my guests see the packet and say, “we have that butter, we love it!” We are talking 100s and 100s of people over the last 16 years.
It is definitely fast becoming a national treasure, so I thought you might like to meet the man behind it all.
I should add that behind every great man, there is always an amazing other, in this case his lovely beloved Katy who is still there on the Castle Dairies stand, she’s been such a trooper taking care of the stand for the entire run! Well done that girl 🥇🎖️🏅
