🚂Ceisiwch osgoi "geiriau annelwig" fel 'hwn' 'hwnna' 'os gwelwch yn dda' 'diolch' a cheisiwch enwi gwrthrychau yn lle hynny wrth i chi eu rhoi i gadw, e.e. 'trên' 'tedi' 'pêl'.

🧸Dwedwch rywbeth am y gweithgaredd gan ddefnyddio iaith syml, e.e. 'yn y bocs' 'Tedi wedi mynd' 'hwyl fawr car'. Ceisiwch gynnwys 'synau hwyl' fel 'hwrê', 'wow'.

◼️Dehonglwch beth mae eich plentyn wedi ei ddweud e.e. Os yw eich plentyn yn dweud 'bo' wrth bwyntio at floc, gallwch chi ailadrodd y gair yn ôl yn glir e.e. 'bloc!'

🥄🧦Creu cyfleoedd: gwnewch 'gamgymeriad twp' i ysgogi ymateb gan eich plentyn. E.e. wrth glirio’r teganau rhowch eitem anarferol feel llwy neu hosan ac aros i weld beth mae'ch plentyn yn ei wneud. Efallai y bydd yn chwerthin, gwneud sŵn, edrych neu'n pwyntio.

🧩Get down to your child’s level and make sure you are face-to-face

🚂Try to avoid “vague words” such as ‘this’ ‘that’ ‘please’ ‘thank you’ and try to name the objects instead as you put them away, e.g. ‘train’ ‘teddy’ ‘ball’.

🧸Comment on the activity using simple language, e.g. ‘in the box’ ‘teddy gone’ ‘bye bye car’. Try and include ‘fun sounds’ such as ‘yay’ ‘wow’.

◼️Interpret what your child has said e.g. If your child says ‘bo’ whilst pointing to a block be sure to repeat back the word clearly e.g. ‘block!’

🥄🧦Creating opportunities: make a ‘silly mistake’ to cause a reaction from your child.
E.g. when you are packing away toys hand them an unusual item such as a spoon or a sock and wait to see what your child does. They may laugh, make a sound, look or point.

Rhowch ddewis i'ch plentyn o'r hyn y mae am ei roi yn y peiriant golchi. Dangoswch y dewisiadau ac enwch nhw e.e. 'sanau neu grys?' Gall eich plentyn edrych, pwyntio, codi’r eitem, gwneud sŵn neu ddefnyddio gair i ddangos ei ddewis.

👚👗Name the clothes you are putting into/taking out of the washing machine/dryer. E.g. ‘sock’ ‘shirt’ ‘towel’. Let your child help you!

Try and include fun sounds and words such as ‘drip drip’ ‘oh no’ ‘yay’

Comment on the activity e.g. ‘wet shirt’ ‘little socks’ ‘fold the towels’.

Copy what your child has said and add another word e.g. if your child says ‘sock’ you can say ‘Mummy’s sock’

Interpret what your child has said e.g. If your child says ‘du’ whilst pointing to a dress you can repeat back the word clearly e.g. ‘dress!’

Offer your child a choice of what they want to put into the washing machine. Show them the choices and label e.g. ‘socks or shirt?’ Your child may look, point, take the item, make a sound or use a word to indicate their choice.

🛒🛍️Young children can help put away groceries after you come home from the shops. Give them light objects such as cereal boxes, crisps, pasta etc. which belong in lower cupboards.
