Wow! What an incredible way to end a brilliant week of music! 🎹🌞

Primo Summer School 2026 is officially complete! ✔️

We finished the week with a fantastic showcase performance of 'Ciro – il gatto Italiano', an original piece written by Anna Williams, which the children had been learning all week through piano and singing. Excellent performances on the piano, percussion and voice, well done all! 🐈‍⬛

Here are a few snapshots from a fun-filled week of giant parachute games, ukulele, African drumming, songwriting, piano and plenty of laughter and music. 🪘

A huge well done to all of our wonderful students, and thank you to teachers Anna and Amy, along with our fantastic helpers Lily, Alma and Felix, for making the week such a success. 😎Thank you as well for all the family and friends that attended the showcase and for your support.

Meet Ciro everyone, il gatto Italiano! 🐈‍⬛

Our sold-out Summer School is just under a month away, and this year's Primo Summer School inspiration is ginger cat Ciro!

Ciro is Primo teacher Anna's second cousin's cat. He's a handsome Italian feline who lives in Milan, Italy. He loves sleeping, spying on the neighbours through the window, and racing around the house during the ora loca – the witching hour!

Throughout the week, we'll be learning "Ciro – il gatto Italiano", a catchy Tarantella-inspired piece. We'll have fun exploring the music, creating our own moves, and of course enjoying lots of time outside in the sunshine. 🌞

We'll also be playing a variety of instruments, including African drums & percussion, ukulele, and an assortment of instruments such as the balafon, cajon and ocean drum. It's going to be a fantastic week of music, movement, creativity, and fun! 🥁

Our Big Summer Sing Fundraiser is only two weeks away! 🎹🎵Saturday 11th July at Insole Court.

Come and watch Insole Court Community Choir sing in full voice with special guests and celebrate summertime in aid of Insole Court trust.

🍻Our well-stocked bars will be open from 6pm, offering refreshing beverages to enjoy the evening.

🌭From 7pm, the Potting Shed will open our dedicated Hotdog station in the ​sunny (hopefully) ​Stable Yard.

This week we are introducing another one of our special guests for the Big Summer Sing on 11th July, duo Anna Williams and Mike Fulthorpe! 🎵

Anna is a piano teacher, community music tutor, and musician based in Cardiff. She teaches at Primo Piano, performs with Strathallan Scottish Country Dance Band, and leads a Home Ed Community Choir. She is also involved in community music projects supporting adult mental health. 🎹

Mike is a music therapist and singer/songwriter based in Cardiff and studied at UWE. He has worked in a variety of settings including adult mental health, dementia and hospice work. He is currently recording his 2nd solo album. 🎸

Together they will be performing as a duo some well known favourites and a song from Mike's new album. 💽

Our next artist is Special Guest performer Emma Kaler who will be performing at our Big Summer Sing Fundraiser Saturday 11th July. 🎼

Emma is a Welsh/Indian performer now based in Cardiff having graduated from the prestigious ArtsEd London in Musical Theatre in 2021. She is delighted to return to the stage for the big summer sing!
