Marshfield Monkeys

🧪 WE MADE SLIME… BUT THAT’S NOT ALL WE MADE! 🧪✨

We made memories.
We built confidence.
We encouraged creativity.
We developed teamwork.
And we had A LOT of fun! 😂

Our Marshfield Monkeys got hands-on in our slime workshop, choosing their own colours, quantities and combinations and working together to create their very own slime masterpieces! 🩷💚💙

And this is exactly why Marshfield Monkeys is MORE than just a Breakfast & After School Club. 🐵

Because behind the fun, there’s always learning.
Behind the activities, there’s always opportunity.
And behind everything we do, there’s CARE. ❤️

✨ We don’t just provide childcare … we put the CARE into childcare. ✨

We want every child who walks through our doors to feel safe, happy, valued, encouraged and confident to be themselves.

So yes, sometimes we get messy…
Sometimes we get VERY messy! 😂
But most importantly, we make every moment count. 🌟

🐵❤️ Marshfield Monkeys. More than childcare. A place to play, learn, grow & belong.

We couldn’t be prouder of our Monkeys at High Cross Primary school setting.
🌟 EXCELLENT🌟 in all 4 areas of an unannounced CIW inspection 👏 👏 🐵❤️

🌟 FOUR EXCELLENTS! 🌟

We are absolutely thrilled and incredibly proud to share the results of our latest Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) unannounced inspection.

Our setting has been awarded:

⭐ Well-being – EXCELLENT
⭐ Care & Development – EXCELLENT
⭐ Environment – EXCELLENT
⭐ Leadership & Management – EXCELLENT

That’s Excellent across all four areas! 🎉

CIW described our children as “very happy, settle quickly and thrive at the setting” and praised the warm relationships they have with staff, our excellent opportunities for children to develop their skills, and the way children are listened to and their views taken into account.

This report is a wonderful recognition of the care, commitment and passion our team puts into creating a safe, happy and nurturing place for children every day.

A huge thank you to our amazing staff, our wonderful children and, of course, our families for trusting us with your children.

We couldn't be prouder! 🐵❤️

A great day at the iconic Pierhead Building in Cardiff Bay, where our management team joined colleagues and partners from across Wales to explore the vital work of Cwlwm in supporting children, families and the early years, childcare and playwork sector.

It was a valuable opportunity for discussion, networking and sharing ideas, with an engaging panel session and conversations around the future of the sector.

We also took the opportunity to visit Logos Hope, currently docked in Cardiff Bay. A unique floating book fair and one of the world’s largest floating bookshops, bringing thousands of books and an international volunteer crew to communities around the world. 📚🚢

A fantastic day of learning, connection and collaboration! 🐵❤️

What a wonderful way to conclude our four-week holiday club with a trip to the Newport Medieval Ship project!
The children had an amazing time learning about the discovery of the sunken ship and the restoration efforts managed by a fantastic team of volunteers. They also enjoyed a game of hunting for the ship's rats, which showcased some great reading and writing skills. Additionally, the children got to dress up in traditional costumes and took part in a clay pottery lesson. We couldn't be prouder of their creativity.

If you'd like to visit the Newport Medieval Ship in the future, it's open on Fridays and Saturdays until the end of October. You can find more information at www.newportship.org.

It's a highly recommended visit that everyone enjoyed.
