I've been asked if I'd start an annual Welsh Varsity tradition of selecting a squad of Cardiff University Alumnus to play the current Welsh Varsity Squad.

The team will be called a "Fowlers Fifteen"

Selection criteria is straightforward, you have to have graduated, a year to 15 years from a playing perspective and any age for those looking to support coaching and back room teams. The fixture would take place three weeks prior to the Welsh Varsity match hosted on the famous Cardiff Arms Park new pitch (Date dependant).

We will look make a weekend of it, getting to together to renew friendships, have a few drinks a dinner, golf day and nightclub VIP trip, with all funds raised to go towards the further development of our University Club.

Date will be set as soon as the Welsh Varsity match date is set.

Cardiff Triumph in Varsity Challenge 2008 24 April 2008 Cardiff University’s rugby team has claimed an impressive victory at this year’s Varsity contest. The team beat rivals Swansea by 19 points to 9 in a fast paced game that saw more than 8,000 supporters at Cardiff Arms Park.
