I am an artist with over 30 years' experience. I had a very good art teacher at school, but my subsequent use and development of working in watercolour, pen and ink, pencil and pastel is substantially self taught. I would describe myself as a fine artist - my work is detailed and in the case of portraits I work very hard to ensure a good likeness. This can mean working from several photographs, and in some cases meeting the subject, in order to capture different aspects of their character. The general rule is the more and better the photographs, the better the finished product.
