التقت معالي الدكتورة راوية بنت سعود البوسعيدية و زيرة التعليم العالي مؤخرا بالبروفيسورة كارا كارميتشال اتشيسون (Cara Carmichael Aitchison) رئيسة جامعة كارديف ميتروبوليتين البريطانية والوفد المرافق لها، بمكتبها بدار الأوبرا السلطانية. حضر اللقاء كلا من البروفيسور محمد لطفي نائب رئيس جامعة كارديف ميتروبوليتين للتعاون الدولي والبروفيسور سلطان عرابي أمين عام اتحاد جامعات الدول العربية والدكتور سعيد العدوي الرئيس التنفيذي لمشروع كلية الأجيال، والدكتور عبدالله بن علي الشبلي مدير عام المديرية العامة لكليات العلوم التطبيقية وجوخة بن عبدالله الشكيلية المديرة العامة للمديرية العامة للجامعات والكليات الخاصة وأحمد بن خميس القطيطي مدير مساعد دائرة التعاون الدولي بالندب بوزارة التعليم العالي، والدكتور عيسى بن سبيل البلوشي رئيس مجلس إدارة كلية الحليج، والدكتور تقي العبدواني عميد كلية الخليج، وسعود بن محمد التمامي أمين سر مجلس إدارة دار الأوبرا السلطانية.

تم خلال الاجتماع مناقشة العديد من أوجه التعاون مع الجامعة البريطانية ومنها متابعة موضوع فتح برامج علمية جديدة بكلية الخليج بالسلطنة في مجالي تكنولوجيا طب الاسنان والتصميم الخزفي -والذي سيستقطب عدد من طلبة ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة -بالارتباط الأكاديمي مع جامعة كارديف متروبوليتين. كما شمل الاجتماع مناقشة التعاون بين الجامعة البريطانية ومشروع كلية الأجيال فيما يتعلق ببرامج التصميم الحرفي باستخدام الجلود والخزفيات والمجوهرات والخشب، بالإضافة إلى مناقشة مقترح إرسال عدد من الطلبة العمانيين للاستفادة من خبرة الجامعة في مجال التصميم باستخدام النسيج، إلى جانب إمكانية إرسال عدد من الفنيين المختصين في مجال إدارة المسرح والإنارة بدار الأوبرا السلطانية للتدريب في الجامعة.
