WAW what an open mic 🎤 that was!

We’re all about championing, cheerleading and celebrating women in our community. Sharing the raw and the real to inspire and motivate us all.

We rise by lifting others 🫶

Last Thursday, 10 amazing women shared their experiences and reflections, here’s 1 takeaway from each speaker….

Donna - Backing yourself doesn’t mean doing it all yourself! (Lesson, seek out support!)

Zena - Every year give yourself a new challenge (big or small) just for you time to put yourself first! (Lesson, we grow by moving out of our comfort zone)

Anne - every day is a new opportunity to try something new (Lesson, no one has promised tomorrow)

Abril- Ok next, the treadmill of life & tasks (Lesson, pause / stop celebrate the small wins - see anne above!)

Maggie - whatever trauma life throws, routine & distraction offers life lines (Lesson, never underestimate structure and routine in crisis)

Caroline - life & labels don’t define you, you can always re set your sail (Lesson, trust the process)

Danielle - ASK don’t ASSUME, don’t ask what’s wrong with you, ask what happened to you (Lesson, don’t judge, be curious, be kind)

‘You can’t heal in the environment that abused you’
Danielle has built what she wants needed, so so powerful 🫶

Benedicta - if not me then who? Who fills the gap who sorts the challenge? (Lesson, we all need someone to believe in us and to advocate for us)

Suzie - cold water swimming empowers you to take control allows reset and stop you going crazy! (Lesson, hormones play havoc find your release)

Paula - the power of connecting, asking curious questions & sharing stories! (Lesson, you never know who’s listening who needed to hear what you had to say and where those ripples will travel)

This last one hit hard emotionally as Paula shared the story of our first time meeting and everything that has come from each time we met since, many life changing moments all summed up in 5 minutes! It was quite a journey to recollect 💙🌟🫶

We’re very proud of our Marketing and Events Manager Evie Palmer-Jones who’s coming to the end of her placement years with us!

Today I was privileged to watch her present to faculty members & peers at Cardiff University about her journey this past year. All the highlights and insights both personally and professionally. As a life long learner I’ve embraced this experience and have so many takeaways of my own to share (another time) today is all about Evie, a very proud employer and mentor here!Her future is bright, her future is empowered 💃⚡️🫶
