It’s that time of year when lots of new people are browsing our website, maybe after doing a summer school, or you’ve heard how amazing the Shack is from friends… and you don’t know what to do next to get started.
I’ve tried to break down the process and include some things that I think will help!

End of the day you can always drop us an email or What’s App and tell us about your child and what you’re looking for and we’ll send you advice and links and once you’re booked in for your tasters with nothing to pay upfront jobs a good ‘un.

Feel free to try a few classes before deciding. There’s no limit.

New term starts 5th September

Musical Theatre Young Professionals is for performers aged 14-18. We spend the first half term working on skills and bonding the new group, establishing stage craft and ways to work as a company. Then we launch into our production for 2027…. Hadestown!

We have few spaces for new company members so if you want in, now is the time to register and enrol!

New term at the Shack and Studio starts Saturday 5th September!

We have so much going on and now is the time to join! Whether it’s Musicals, plays, acting classes, dance classes, singing lessons… we’ve got it all! In our own theatre and dance studio in Freemans Parc on Penarth Road, Cardiff.

Dance classes are £6.51 an hour, Shack classes are £11.24 an hour, one to ones work on a slightly different scale so get in touch about those. Fees payable monthly in 11 equal amounts September to July.

Full bursaries are available across all classes meaning you have £0 to pay, if you need it. Not means tested, just ask. 1 simple form to fill out.

Spaces are filling up fast for the new academic year so book your taster now - nothing to pay upfront.

Ages 4-18 are welcome to come and try a class. We have a beautiful dedicated dance studio and quirky, lush theatre, made just for young people. Come and see!

We can’t wait to see you!

What a week we had last week at our K-Pop Demon Hunters in a week summer school! We got to play with all our lighting effects and projections to create a concert equal to the world of K-Pop!!

It’s been lovely to welcome so many new faces to the Shack and Studio this summer, and of course see our term time gang for just some pure joy of theatre!

We’re back next week with Shakespeare in a Week, and Dance and Do continues over at The Shack Studio
Monday to Friday for 2 more weeks!!

Across our 2 venues, the theatre and dance studio, we have welcomed 283 young people.

We have given away 68 free places and 52 discounted places.

Not bad for a half way mark!

Busy week ahead with K-Pop Demon Hunters in a Week at The Talent Shack and 5 Dance and Do days in the Shack Studio.

We still have spaces for most Dance and Do days (free or pay what you can) and Film in a Week and Shakespeare in a Week still have a few places 😊

FILM IN A WEEK at the Talent Shack

Calling all young actors, film makers, writers, producers, creators!

We are making the ultimate blockbuster before cinema went CGI. Revealing the tips and tricks to create special effects when the world was analogue…

Ideal for ages 10-18 who love cinema and action packed drama! Participants will learn behind the camera techniques as well as perform in front of the camera! Creating scenes from scratch, inspired by the greatest cinema of the 80’s, 90’s and 00’s.
