Last weekend saw a team of 22 athletes head to Leeds for some BUCS cross country “fun”! The course was a vast contrast to the idyllic pembrey park last year and was possibly the muddiest and toughest course any of us had ever run on in our athletics careers. But never fear… this team descended on temple hill armed with 15mm spikes, buckets of face paint and the odd can of red hair spray and produced some pretty awesome results.
In the women’s long course, lead us home in 33rd with , and packing together well and finishing in 63rd, 68th and 73rd respectively. The team came 14th out of 41 universities with 164 points, beating our score from last year by 6 points🫡
Fresher lead the club home in the men’s long course race placing 7th - possibly the highest place by a CUAC athlete at BUCS XC ? (So far 😜). Senior veteran followed closely in 9th with triathlete .c113 38th and ._galloway placing 75th. The team also saw BUCS captain .x finish 104th and social sec ._smith._ in 129th. The men’s team came an incredible 5th out of 46 scoring universities, with a total of 129 points also improving on their score from last year by 6 points!
The women’s short course race saw fresher lead the team home in 64th followed by in 75th and cross captain in 85th. The team also consisted of , , .x and .griffithsx .
The men’s short course consisted of a very strong team of freshers with .fagan1608 and leading the team in 65th and 66th respectively followed by and 💥

💜 world mental health day 💜
Hi everyone - Anna and Erin here, your welfare officers. We believe your mental health makes a world a difference to your day to day life and should be your priority to a healthy body and mind! Please come talk to ourselves, an organisation (there are many) or a trusted person/friend if you are struggling - it’s so important to normalise these conversations and remember that it’s okay to not be okay.
For world mental health day, we are suggesting the mini task of reaching out to someone today that you haven’t spoken to in a while or simply to check in on a friend! Mental health issues can show in a multitude of ways but have the tendency to hide and stay silent. Start the conversation - no matter how big or small a scenario may seem, no one should have to suffer on their own 🫶🏼
If you haven’t seen the WhatsApp chat or Facebook post, we have planned a sunrise dip at Penarth on Sunday the 15th of October. Everyone is welcome so please do come along, rain or shine 😊
We hope you are all having a lovely day xx
