We were honoured to welcome Shaykh Walid Mehsas to ILM School today.
Shaykh Walid Mehsas, the Algerian imam whose beautiful interaction with a cat touched hearts around the world, visited our school and spent a truly memorable day with our students and staff.
Students had the privilege of listening to his beautiful Qur’an recitation and praying behind him as he led us in prayer. He also delivered an engaging and heartfelt Q&A session, sharing valuable advice, personal experiences, and reflections that inspired everyone in attendance.
It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to learn from a respected imam and Qur’an reciter whose humility, character, and love for the Qur’an continue to inspire people across the world.
May Allah ﷻ reward Shaykh Walid Mehsas for his visit, benefit us through his knowledge, and increase us all in our love for the Qur’an. Ameen.

Jumu’ah Khutbah Reflection
Today’s khutbah was delivered by Sheikh Aziz and focused on the theme of exam week and preparation for the ultimate meeting with Allah (SWT).
Sheikh Aziz reminded us that while students may be preparing for school exams, the real examination is our journey through this life. The results of this test will be revealed when we stand before Allah on the Day of Judgement.
He encouraged us to reflect on our preparation for that meeting. Our acts of worship are part of this test, as are our dealings with others and the fulfilment of their rights. Success is not only measured by our relationship with Allah, but also by how we treat His creation.
The khutbah also highlighted the importance of not allowing Shaytan to deceive us. Shaytan was led astray through pride and arrogance, and he seeks to mislead others in the same way. Sometimes, after making mistakes, a person may feel like a failure and lose hope. However, a believer should never despair of Allah’s mercy.
Allah says in the Qur’an:
“Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves.” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:222)
There is also a hadith of the Prophet ﷺ:
“By Him in Whose Hand is my soul, if you were not to commit sins, Allah would replace you with people who would commit sins and then seek forgiveness from Allah, and He would forgive them.”
Reference: Sahih Muslim, Hadith 2749.
This teaches us that making mistakes is part of being human, but sincere repentance and turning back to Allah are beloved to Him.
May Allah grant us the ability to prepare well for our meeting with Him, remain humble, fulfil the rights of others, and constantly turn to Him in repentance. Ameen.

A huge thank you to My Salah Mat for organising their wonderful Eid Card Making Competition!
We had some absolutely fabulous entries from our students, making it incredibly difficult to choose the winners. The excitement in the room was priceless as the children eagerly waited to hear the results. In fact, the entries were so impressive that we ended up adding an extra winner!
The prizes were a huge hit, especially the beloved Nür Plushie and the inspiring Race to Umrah book, which quickly became favourites among our students.
We are truly grateful for the generosity and kindness shown by the My Salah Mat team. Their thoughtful gifts and continued support made this a memorable experience for our children.
A big thank you to the entire My Salah Mat team for their exceptional range of educational and Islamic products that help make learning fun, engaging, and meaningful for young Muslims.

Our recent Islamic Book Stall was a wonderful success!
Featuring a fantastic selection of titles from Kube Publishing, the stall was enjoyed by students, parents, and staff alike. From captivating stories for young readers to inspiring books on Seerah, Hadith, Islamic history, and character development, there was something for everyone.
It was lovely to see so many children excited about books and eager to discover new favourites. Encouraging a love of reading and Islamic learning is something we are passionate about, and this stall certainly helped do just that.
A huge thank you to Kube Publishing for providing such an excellent range of high-quality Islamic books. We look forward to stocking their books again in the future, in sha Allah. 📖💛
