A huge thank you to everyone who took part in our Odd Socks Day! It was wonderful to see pupils and staff celebrating what makes each of us unique while raising money for charity.
Pupils from across the school took part from our Busy Bees in Primary to our Year 13's in Sixth Form, together we raised over £100!
In November our Pupil Council will be meeting to decide what charities all the money we raise will go to.
Well Done Everyone!

We are delighted to share that we have worked with the charity Book Buzz, giving each Year 7 & 8 pupil the opportunity to choose a book that interested them from a fantastic selection of titles. Their chosen books have now arrived and belong to them to read, enjoy and keep forever.

This initiative is part of our continued commitment to developing a strong culture of reading for pleasure across Kings Monkton School.
By giving pupils choice and ownership over what they read, we hope to encourage them to discover new authors, explore different genres, and most importantly, enjoy reading.

This year, a group of our Sixth Form mathematicians have formed a team to take part in the National Cipher Challenge.
Run by the University of Southampton's Department of Mathematics, the competitions challenges pupils to use mathematicians, logic and problem-solving skills to break increasingly difficult codes and ciphers.

The competition has strong links with organisations including GCHQ, Bletchley Park and Trinity College Cambridge, and has been running since 2002. Many former competitors have gone on to study mathematics, computing and pursue careers in cyrber-security.

Our team will be tackling the challenges over the coming months, working together to crack the codes and progress through the competition. We look forward to following their progress and seeing how far they can get!

We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate an incredible achievement by our Year 7-9 pupils!
15 of our pupils have had their creative writing selected for publication in the Young Writers 'Stranger Sagas' anthology - which means that they are officially published authors!

We are so proud of their imagination, creativity, and dedication to their writing. We now have a copy proudly sitting in our school library, and many of our young authors have also brought their own copies - a wonderful keepsake of this fantastic acievement.

It was fantastic to welcome back former pupils for our inaugural Current Pupils vs Leavers Football Match.
The game was a fantastic occasion, played in great spirit and packed with excitement right to the final whistle. Both teams delivered outstanding performances, making it a closely contested match.
A huge thank you to all of our returning players for helping to make the afternoon such a success.
We look forward to building on this new tradition and hopefully will be enjoying a rematch next year! ⚽🏆

We are proud to announce that following the hard work of our Rights Respecting Schools Group, we have achieved our Bronze Rights Respecting Schools Award!

At King's Monkton, every child's rights matter, and the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) underpins so much of what we do - from learning and teaching, to pupil voice, relationships, wellbeing and the way we work together as a school community.

This year, we are excited to take the next step on out journey and start working towards Silver Accreditation!

We will continue to learn about children's rights, listen to our pupils and make sure that every child knows that their voice, their rights, and their ideas matter.

⭐Bronze achieved, Silver next!⭐

This week our Year 7 pupils headed to LEGOLAND Windsor for our first trip of National Coding Week - and what an adventure it was!
From exploring the incredible moving models of MiniWorld and zooming around the Speedway, to helicopters, submarines, haunted houses, water rides, and the infamous Log Flume.... There was certainly no shortage of excitement!😱

The undeniable highlight for many was our Robotics Coding sessions, where pupils programmed their very own LEGO robotic cars and explored everything from tyre circumference & direction to motor power. There may have even been some very creative sound effects along the way! 🤖🏎️
A day of LEGO, coding, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork and plenty of laughter - the perfect start to the term.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success. We can't wait for the next adventure! 🧱✨

The topic for our Year 4/5 class for Autumn is learning all about Ancient Greece and Greek Mythology.
So this week, Ruth and the rest of our amazing catering staff provided Primary pupils with an assortment of Greek foods including stuffed vine leaves and feta cheese.
A great treat for the beginning of the term!
