Ruth Gladman stage 4 in complete horsemanship (instructor)

I’ve been involved with the riding school since 1989. Loving my weekly lessons as a child. Then progressing to helping on the yard, then yard staff and now coach. I have my stage 4 complete horsemanship qualification. I love coaching as for me it’s all about having fun, getting outside and enjoying riding.
I have competed in showjumping, eventing and dressage and have even been on the Welsh team a few teams with my homebred horse Kota. I enjoy breeding sports ponies at home and training my sheepdog Sky in my spare time.

Meet Oscar

Oscar is a 16.3hh Welsh Part-Bred. Born in 2018, he has been with us on working livery since 2026. He is a sweet horse who is currently working with our higher grades riders due to his inexperience.
(Please share your photos of Oscar in the comments below)

Meet Chrissie
(Yard staff)

I have been passionate about horses since I was young, my grandparents got me into rinding and doing pony rides at 3 yrs old. I grew up riding and helping out at Downside and later Rockwood in my early teens. I hold my BHS Level 1 in Care, Ride and Road Safety and have lots of experience with horses and ponies. I had a break from horses while I started a family and took the plunge at running my own business. I have been a member of staff at Cardiff Riding School for the past two years, so I am already a familiar face to many clients and staff. I absolutely love our horses and ponies and you’ll often find a few who have had a few kisses from me. It is always a pleasure to watch someone progress from their very first lesson, develop their skills, work through their grades and see their confidence grow along the way.
