⚡ Five electrical safety bodies just called for a pause on the plug-in solar rollout.

Plug-in solar hits UK shops within months. Government's pushing it. It sounds clean and cheap. But it introduces electricity back into circuits that were never assessed to handle it. Back-feed can compromise protective devices — the kind that protect against fire. Sit that in 100-year-old wiring with multiple units and extension leads and you have a slow-building fire risk.

BS 7671 Amendment 4 will sort this. But it's not here yet. The destination is fine. The speed is the problem.
