🕵️‍♂️🏆 Scavenger Hunt Challenge – Bridgend Town Centre! 🏆🕵️‍♀️
Today, our Pencoedtre High School learners swapped the classroom for the streets of Bridgend as they took part in a teamwork scavenger hunt challenge! 📸
Their mission was to work together to complete a range of photo challenges, including finding local landmarks, spotting Welsh pride, uncovering historical buildings over 100 years old, and showing their creativity with some fun bonus tasks.
This activity tested so many important skills, including:✅ Teamwork✅ Communication✅ Leadership✅ Problem solving✅ Critical thinking
The learners showed fantastic enthusiasm throughout the challenge, supporting each other to collect as many points as possible and completing some brilliant team photos along the way.
A great way to get out into the community, explore the history of Bridgend, and put their teamwork skills into action. 👏
Well done to everyone involved! 🌟

💪 Teamwork in action! 💪

Our learners from Cowbridge School and Llantwit Major School / Ysgol Llanilltud Fawr took part in an exciting teamwork challenge this week, putting their communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to the test.

The challenge was simple… but not easy! Teams had to work together to move bottles of water as far across the boundary line as possible, all while making sure at least one team member kept their feet behind the line at all times.

It was fantastic to see learners sharing ideas, thinking creatively, adapting their strategies, and supporting one another to achieve their goal. The determination and teamwork shown by everyone was outstanding! 👏

After all the hard work in the heat, the bottles of water definitely came in handy to help everyone cool down and rehydrate! 💧☀️

A brilliant session with some excellent examples of teamwork, resilience, and leadership from all involved.

⭐️ Learner of the week⭐️

Pencoedtre High School

I am pleased to present Walker with this award in recognition of his outstanding effort throughout the course. Not just this week, but consistently over the past seven weeks, he has demonstrated true leadership qualities.

He has shown excellent commitment by attending every session, engaging fully in all activities, and setting a positive example for others. His attitude, effort, and willingness to lead by example have not gone unnoticed.

Da iawn, a very well‑deserved achievement.

💡 Teamwork, Communication & Leadership in Action! 💡

Our learners kicked off the first Monday back after half term with an exciting Blindfold Shape Challenge as part of their Teamwork qualification.

Working in teams, one learner was blindfolded while their teammates used clear communication and leadership skills to guide them into creating different shapes using only verbal instructions. 🔺⭐⭕🏠

The challenge tested:
✅ Communication
✅ Teamwork
✅ Leadership
✅ Problem-solving
✅ Trust and cooperation

It was fantastic to see learners supporting one another, adapting their approach when things didn’t go to plan, and working together to achieve their goals. Activities like this help develop essential employability skills that can be transferred into education, the workplace and everyday life.

A brilliant start to the new half term with plenty
of learning, laughter and teamwork on display! 👏

Cwmtawe Community School Learners took part in a Mock Interview Activity, and they were absolutely fantastic.

They showed confidence, maturity and respect while asking and answering interview-style questions. What stood out most was how well they bought into the activity, supported each other and gave it their best effort.

Mock interviews are a brilliant way for learners to build real-life skills such as communication, confidence, body language, listening and giving feedback. These are skills that will support them not only in future interviews, but also in work, education and everyday life.

A huge well done to all learners involved. It takes courage to step out of your comfort zone, speak in front of others and reflect on your own performance.
