In today's Makers Showcase, we are delighted to present another of our incredibly talented members, Sian Hollins, of Pot.entially Ceramics.

Sian explains that pottery is her way of relaxing and caring for her mental health. She says "I love the different ways in which I can combine how I interact with clay - throwing, hand-building and decoration". Her style is influenced by my mathematical and engineering background, and her favourite thing is to throw a piece and then transform it through carving or glazing using different geometric shapes.

We can't wait to welcome Sian to our market, as her talent for making is clearly evident in her detailed body of work. Prepare for an extraordinary showcase of talent at our MAKERS MARKET! Mark your calendars for Sunday 19th July, a fun filled day that you won’t want to miss.

Leading up to the market, we'll be spotlighting all 40+ makers who'll be there on the day, in regular Makers Showcases. Among the incredible artisans featured, we're thrilled to present our member Vitt, of TeenyTiny. Her creations may be tiny in size, but they’re certainly big on charm! Vitt crafts delicate clay jewellery and mini ornaments that are as beautiful as they are intricate. From earrings and rings, to jellyfish and flowers, each piece is a miniature work of art that you’ll want to treasure.

You can find Vitt’s work and you can see it in person at our Makers Market, where you pick up a one-of-a-kind creation to take home with you. Get this date in your diary now, as you won’t want to miss this!

Our Maker's Showcase today highlights the striking creations of Richard Downing. Wheel-thrown, burnished, and pit-fired, Richard's vessels are coloured by fire and found combustibles including seaweed, salt, copper, iron, horsehair and ferns – a deliberately chaotic process making each piece unique and unrepeatable. The results are often likened to the colour, grain and feel of marble.
