Cardiff Pottery Workshops Foundation CIC Cardiff Pottery Workshops CIC, Classes, membership. We are fundamentally different to any other pottery in the UK. We don’t just offer facilities.

We offer lifelong learning, a progressive approach to learning through all our classes. Our aim is to make pottery accessible to all and we have created a wonderful studio hosting excellent facilities in order to do this. We offer 6 week courses in Throwing and Hand Building, Weekend Workshops, Masterclasses, Team Building, Parties and Personal Tuition. In 2017 we became a Community Interest Company, showing our dedication to bringing pottery into the Cardiff community. In this spirit we run an amazing 60+ Tea and Pottery group, ReFire - Free Pottery Classes for those who suffer with depression and Parent & Child Throwing Tasters. We also offer membership to anyone wishing to practice with clay on a more regular basis. We have a growing creative community of fantastic artists who support and champion one another.

In just over 2 weeks, the next round of our 6 week courses will be starting - which will be the last round for 2026. It doesn't matter whether you're a beginner or an established potter, we'll have a course for you as we offer throwing and hand building options at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Not only that, but if you sign up to our 2 month Taught Membership that includes a 6 week course, so you get the chance to learn a new skill AND become a part of our amazing community of members for just £50 extra!* Membership at our studio includes a wide range of benefits, many of which focus on supporting progression and continued learning for each and every member - however long you may have been with us.

This weekend we've got spaces on two of our classes where you can come and learn how to throw on the wheel. Whether you fancy coming to a Date Night session at our Llandough studio and taking it in turns to have a go at throwing a bowl, or coming to a Throwing Taster session at our Roath studio where you get a wheel each to learn more about the art of using the wheel, you're sure to have a great time. Our Saturday workshops are a great way to try pottery for the first time, or they can offer the perfect opportunity to develop skills you might have if you've already worked with clay and you'd love to do more! We have a range of workshops coming up over the next month or so at our Llandough studio, and there are still some spaces up for grabs - including for our workshop this coming Saturday, where you can hand craft a bowl for your beloved pet to use. Come along on your own or with others, and we'll even throw in a cuppa for free!
