It’s not just dancing at Dance and Do! There’s also lots of craft, dressing up, playing games and hanging with your holiday friends!

We run Monday to Friday until 28th August. Pay What You Can. If you need a free session, that’s fine by us! If you can contribute between £10-£30 that helps us offer more for free in the future.

For ages 5-11, 9am-3.30pm with a performance at the end of each day for the family.

We’ve had lots of new families register with us over the last few weeks so I’m doing a little behind the scenes, get to know us series of posts.

We use software called Class Manager and I’m sure that’s got some unavoidable AI business in there. We also use Canva to create our marketing and that for sure uses sneaky AI that’s just imbedded in everything it seems.

But when you want your child to take part in Dance and Do or one of our week long summer schools or any class, you will be contacting me- Shelley! Either by what’s app or email or our website or Class Manager. It’s me that replies and books your child on. I then create the invoice and email it to you. I then send out the welcome email. (I also do all our marketing, book keeping, accounting, planning, producing, all that malarkey too. But don’t worry - I love it)

I’m often around on the day as well and your children will see me come and go and get involved from time to time! I work closely with the teaching team and oversee what they do, helping out when needed, making sure everything is shack right.

We’re not a big automated conglomerate 🤣 we have a few systems and software to support us and I have been doing this a long time now so I have ways that mean I’m not working ALL the time. But this is very much a personal, family business. A not for profit business.

Admin is a beast for sure but it means people are using our services, children are having a great day with us, students are building skills and knowledge, and essentially it’s a nice chat getting to know you all and making sure you’re in the right class and your child is happy!

Sometimes a cafe visit is needed when both venues are full of summer schools!

Stars of Tomorrow August 2nd 2026

First time for us taking part in this event so it was a bit stepping into the unknown. We created a Musical Theatre routine bringing together Live in Living Colour from Catch Me if You Can and Where I Wanna Be from Boop the Musical. The track was created by our ridiculously talented Musical Director David who worked with our choreographer Courtney to create this 4 minute epic - classic Jazz, classic MT and very us!

The dancers were made up from our Jazz classes - Monday Jazz Tech, Saturday MT Jazz Juniors, Seniors and Young Professionals. They all rehearsed in their class time, only coming together for the last two rehearsals where Courtney pieced it all together.

Concept and costumes were led by Shelley but with so much going on in the Shack over the summer it wouldn’t have happened without Courtney’s relentless commitment, Elspeth’s patience and creativity and then members of our Ambassadors jumping in to help with hair and make up on the final weekend, Helen and Ann-Marie.

This was the last time Clem and Dylan performed as part of the Talent Shack and we wanted them to have a big send off. They led the cast, taking the leading roles, and they owned that stage! Next stop Laine Theatre Arts!

Last year we took our High Contract X Pinocchio routine to Chance to Dance at Alton Towers, this year main stage WMC and Stars of Tomorrow… next year?? Who knows! Somewhere new, a different concept, same high quality! Who’s in?! So exciting!!

Dance and Do had an amazing week 2 of the holidays! We return tomorrow for week 3!

Street Dance at The Shack Studio

Every Wednesday, term time and now THROUGH THE SUMMER BREAK!! For 12-18’s 5pm-6.30pm, same fee as term time, £9.53 a class. Book individual classes - we start next week and run until the end of August.

Bookable now in Class Manager - now students always welcome, in fact we are actively looking for new dancers to join our Street Seniors as we have a few leaving for college so spaces are available.
