At En Pointe Theatre Arts, we believe in nurturing dreams β¨ and inspiring excellence π in every dancer. Our Level 1 Intro to Assisting Future Dance Teacher, Seren, began her journey with passion and positivity π on Saturday, ready to make a difference in our dance community π€π.
Mentor Miss Danielle encouraged Seren to lead our ISTD Primary Taps rhythm section, helping young dancers develop their understanding of quarter notes through fun, engaging activities. Using creative terms like βapple, apple, apple, bang,β our students learn musicality and focus in a supportive environment, clapping or moving with each βappleβ and pausing at βbang.β
Seren continues her own dance journey π©°, studying Royal Academy of Dance Grades 2 and 3 ballet and ISTD Grade 2 Modern Theatre, while preparing for her ISTD Grade 1 Tap examination this July under the guidance of mentor Miss Danielle.
We are so proud to see Seren embrace new challenges π«, build strong communication, listening, and problem-solving skills, and grow as a valued member of our dance community π¨βπ©βπ§βπ¦. The Future Dance Teachers program empowers young dancers to support others, develop leadership skills, contribute to their community, and build qualities that will serve them both inside and outside the studio π.

We are thrilled to announce that Keira and Teysha have received their Royal Academy of Dance Pre-Primary in Dance Ballet Certificates in class! π To say we are proud is an understatement. At just 4 years old, with the minimum recommended age of five for the RAD Pre-Primary in Dance Class examination, Teysha achieved full marks with 3, 3, 3, 3 across the board. Keira also excelled, scoring 3, 2, 3, 3, with a maximum of 3 in each section. Both dancers demonstrated outstanding technique and artistic performance in their examination. πβ¨
At En Pointe Theatre Arts, excellence is central to our approach. We strive to provide professional-quality dance education, nurturing each student with care, dedication, and encouragement in every class. Our commitment is to guide each dancer to achieve their personal best, both technically and artistically, while supporting them on their individual dance journey. π±π©°
At En Pointe Theatre Arts, our dancers frequently take part in internationally recognised exams with the esteemed Royal Academy of Dance. π
These exams are overseen by OFQUAL, recognised by Qualifications Wales, and align with the UK school system. We evaluate studentsβ readiness during their regular classes; once ready, we work closely with parents to explain the exam process. To help every child feel confident and prepared, we ask students to attend three rehearsal sessions with their exam group. These rehearsals allow students to understand the exam format, improve their technique and spacing, and gain helpful feedback, setting them up for success on exam day! π
Our Royal Academy of Dance Pre-Primary in Dance Ballet Classes are held every Saturday at Pontprennau Primary School from 10:30 to 11:15am for children aged 4.5+ (Reception and older). πΆβ¨ For children aged 2β4 years, our Tiny Ballet class on Saturdays provides an ideal introduction to dance, helping to develop skills and confidence for when they are ready for RAD Pre-Primary, just like Keira and Teysha! For children aged 6 and above, we offer RAD Ballet classes from Primary Level onwards to support every stage of your dancer's development. ππ©°
All our classes are led by highly qualified, caring teachers who are members of the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. π« Every teacher holds an enhanced DBS check, undertakes regular safeguarding training, and is a licensed chaperone. We are excited to announce that Seren, also known as Miss Seren to our younger students, will begin the Level One Introduction to Assisting course! π
This wonderful opportunity is tailored for dancers aiming to teach, lead, and contribute to our lively community. Similar to the Duke of Edinburgh Award (but for passionate dancers!), this course helps students understand the responsibilities involved in running a dance class and develop leadership skills. Completing Level One will earn Seren 25 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) points, enhancing her CV and supporting future university or vocational pursuits. π
The 10-month Level One course includes modules on Observation and Learning, Building Relationships, and Understanding Showsβcovering stage and backstage activities related to choreography, planning, and technical aspects. Seren will also explore choreography and learn how to design warm-ups and cool-downs suitable for different dance styles. The course has four levels in total, and we look forward to watching Seren grow as a dancer and assistant teacher. π©°
Over the past year, Seren has assisted in our RAD Pre-Primary in Dance Ballet, ISTD Pre-Primary Tap, RAD Primary in Dance Ballet, ISTD Primary Tap, and ISTD Primary Modern Theatre with Creative Movement classes. After sharing her dream of becoming a ballet teacher, we proudly support Serenβs journey within our En Pointe Theatre Arts community. π€ This course will expand her teaching knowledge, boost her confidence and self-esteem, and develop leadership skills that she will carry into her future both inside and outside the studio. πͺ
Seren currently studies Royal Academy of Dance Grades Two and Three ballet, ISTD Grade 1 Tap, and ISTD Grade 2 Modern with Creative Movement. She plans to take her ISTD Grade 1 Tap exam on July 29, 2026, and will perform in the main cast of our December 2026 production of Snow White (roles will be announced over the summer!). πβοΈ
The Future Dance Teachers Programme is ideal for dancers aged 11 and above interested in assisting dance classes and experiencing what it is like to teach and lead.
If your dancer is interested in participating, please contact Miss Danielle to determine whether itβs a good fit. βοΈ
