Did you know you can book a life model privately through Life Drawing Wales?

Private sessions can be arranged for individual artists, small groups or art societies—whether you’d like to:

• work on a particular drawing or painting
• study a longer, sustained pose
• develop your portfolio
• practise figure drawing in a quieter setting
• organise a creative session with a group of artist friends

Sessions can take place in your studio or another suitable venue, and we can help match you with an experienced model suited to your project.

All bookings are for artistic purposes and must take place in a professional, respectful environment.

For availability and pricing, send us a message or email [email protected] with a few details about what you have in mind.

A little look back at our final session before the summer break 🌿

We gave the evening a slightly summery feel with a few props which made for some really lovely poses and drawings.

Thank you to everyone who came along and helped us round off this run of Wednesday evenings so nicely! We’re taking a short pause over August, then we’ll be back in Kindred in September ✏️

One last evening of life drawing before our summer break ✏️

We’ll be at Kindred tonight from 6–8pm for a relaxed session with a mixture of shorter and longer poses.

All abilities are welcome, and materials are provided — whether you’re a regular or have been meaning to give life drawing a try.

After tonight, we’ll be taking a little pause and returning in September. It would be lovely to see you before we go 🌿

Booking via the link in bio.

A few drawings from our latest Wednesday evening at Kindred ✏️

It was a real pleasure to welcome our wonderful pregnant model, whose poses gave us a beautiful opportunity to observe and draw the changing form of the body.

Thank you Hannah for modelling so brilliantly, and to everyone who joined us and brought their own individual approach to the session. It’s always lovely to see how differently the same poses are interpreted around the room.

A little summer update 🌿

After our next two Wednesday sessions, we’ll be taking a short summer break throughout August.

There are still two opportunities to join us before the break:

Wednesday 22 July
Wednesday 29 July
6–8pm at Kindred, Cardiff

Sessions will return in September — I’ll share the exact date nearer the time.

Thank you so much to everyone who has joined us since the relaunch. It’s been lovely bringing the sessions back, and I’m looking forward to returning refreshed in the autumn 🤍

Sometimes the most interesting parts of a sketchbook are where one drawing runs into the next.

Repeated lines, overlapping poses and half-finished forms gradually become something almost abstract — a record of looking, adjusting and trying again.

A small detail from one of our recent sessions at Kindred ✏️

A few sketches from Wednesday evening at Kindred ✏️

Our model this week was a swimmer — although recreating any actual swimming poses without a pool proved a little ambitious. Instead, we explored a mixture of shorter and longer poses, with plenty of different approaches around the room.

Swipe through to see some of the work from the session, including one of my own which somehow ended up without a head (sorry, Becky). A bold artistic decision, obviously.

Thank you to everyone who came along, and to our brilliant model for another lovely evening of drawing.

Join us for two hours of drawing, with a mixture of shorter and longer poses in a friendly and welcoming setting.

All abilities are welcome, and drawing materials are provided — just bring yourself and come along.

We always have a selection of materials available at our sessions - chalk pencils and black paper are a lovely combination for exploring highlights, contrast and the way light falls across the figure. Swipe to see what one of our lovely artists created with them 👀

You’re always welcome to bring your own favourite materials, but there’s plenty available if you’d rather simply turn up and draw!

All abilities welcome, and materials are included in the session price.

A few moments from our most recent session at Kindred ✏️

We began with a couple of short drawings using only straight lines—a simple exercise that encourages us to look closely at the angles and structure of the figure, without getting caught up in detail.

We then moved into longer poses, with lots of thoughtful and varied work emerging around the room.

Thank you to our model and to everyone who joined us for another lovely evening of drawing.
