How often do you feel overwhelmed?

Yesterday, that feeling hit me like a ton of bricks. Guess what topped me over the edge though? A birthday card that didn’t fit into its envelope as I had managed to pick up the wrong one somehow 🙈 When I think of it now it’s so ridiculous! But yesterday…well it was the thing that topped off a crazy week!

I know social media can paint a picture of everyone always having it together but I bet that it’s totally not the case for the vast majority of us. How many times have you felt like you’re on a treadmill and you’re somehow just constantly trying to keep up with the momentum of it? Eventually we have to take a break before we fall off it.

You have to remember you are an amazing parent/human being and we all have our tough days. What’s important is being able to recognise that it’s ok to take a break and just slow down for a minute. Take a warm bath and have an early night…simply reset.

If any of you are feeling the way I felt yesterday and don’t want to chat to people you know about it then please reach out. My ears will always be here.

Milestones I forget to picture 🙈

I keep saying I’m going to do better and have a picture of Logan with the little milestone cards that I have always had for each of the boys. I hate to say it but I haven’t done anything beyond the first month one 🙈

It’s definitely not that they go unnoticed - quite the opposite. All the boys are fully engrossed as well as me now with the new skills that I just seem to forget!

I have stories I can tell them when they’re older so hopefully they’ll enjoy listening! ❤️

An impromptu visit to the beach whilst we had a sleeping baby! My husband asked us not to get wet as we had plans for the rest of the day with no spare clothes for the older boys 🙈….

Holidays!

Cannot wait to go back to Scotland and enjoy some quiet time in the country. I normally head home at least every couple of months but with the arrival of a new baby and having a toddler we found it more difficult this year. Haven’t been home since Christmas! I’m more than a little excited… 🥰

Beavers/Cubs

I’m so glad we decided to register Alex and Jamie for Beavers as it’s given them so many opportunities to try different things.

On Thursday Jamie went ‘Bell Boating’ - something I had never heard of before! They had such a good time! Even a ride on a speedboat too that made me wish I was a member too 🤣

Beavers/cubs/Scouts gives the children amazing opportunities to earn badges for achieving different skills and personal challenges. If you’ve been debating about whether to sign up, definitely do it!

What clubs, if any, does your child love?

So sorry I’ve been absent for a while guys ❤️ Been trying to muddle through this busy stage and been massively feeling the ‘mum guilt’ of late.

The guilt of not really being able to devote hours of my time to my toddler as seem to be rushing off to feed or go pick the others up from school etc The guilt of not being there for my newborn as I’m rushing off wondering what my toddler is up to…(especially when they’re quiet!)

My husband and I keep reminding each other during the hard days that it won’t be forever and that we shouldn’t wish their days as little humans away. They grow up far too fast…

What age is/was your favourite?

Feeling super proud of this little man and how much his confidence has grown.

Jamie has become such a loving big brother which must be hard considering how much his life has been changed with the arrival of two little ones!

How do you organise quality time with your children individually?

Absolutely love this face Cameron has learned to pull! He does it then laughs hysterically 😂 I had to capture it to remind me of how much these little things made me laugh amongst the chaos four children bring lol

We were at a football festival for an entire day today which is hard with a little toddler and newborn. I often have the ‘mum guilt’ of not being there for my eldest two due to it being too much taking out the younger two. But today I wanted to make sure I was there and to watch them play.

So ready for bed now mind! 🤣

What do you get the ‘parent guilt’ about?
