About
Skills To Up-skill Skills To Up-skill is a community-focused initiative dedicated to providing learning and development opportunities for families. We aim to equip parents and children with the skills they need to thrive in today’s world, whether that’s through literacy support, digital skills workshops, confidence-building activities, or other personal development programmes. Our goal is to bridge the gap in access to education and training, ensuring that all families have the tools they need to succeed.

As a volunteer with Skills To Up-skill, you will play a pivotal role in empowering individuals and families to achieve their personal and professional goals. What Will You Do?
As a volunteer, you will assist with a range of activities designed to support parents and children in developing essential life skills. These activities may include: -
- Facilitating Workshops.
- You’ll support the delivery of workshops focused on key skills such as literacy, numeracy, digital skills, and financial management.
-1-to-1 Support:
- Offer personalised support to families, helping them overcome specific challenges or barriers they may face in accessing education and training.
- Mentoring and Guidance:
- Act as a mentor to both parents and children, providing encouragement and practical advice to help them navigate their learning journeys.
- Event Coordination: Assist in the planning and organisation of community events and outreach initiatives aimed at raising awareness about the programme and recruiting new participants. - Feedback and Evaluation: Help gather feedback from participants to assess the effectiveness of the programme and suggest improvements for future sessions.

Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and compassionate volunteers who are committed to making a positive impact in their local community. Ideal candidates will have the following qualities:
- Passion for Education and Community Work: A genuine interest in supporting families and helping them develop essential life skills.
- Strong Communication Skills: The ability to interact effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds.
- Empathy and Patience: A caring and understanding approach, especially when working with children and parents who may face significant challenges.
- Flexibility and Adaptability: The ability to work in a dynamic and evolving environment, with a willingness to learn and take on new tasks.
- No Prior Experience Needed: While experience in teaching, mentoring, or community work is an advantage, it is not required. We provide full training and support to all volunteers.
