😊A huge thank you to Mrs Gleeson Tutors for taking the time to have a chat and cuppa with me on Zoom today.
👩🏫 It was so lovely to chat with another tutor who lives locally and share our tutoring experiences and life in Wales. She’s based in Pontypridd so I’d recommend contacting her if you live in that area and are looking for tuition.
♥ Hopefully, we’ll be able to chat again to share all our lovely lesson ideas and try to meet some other tutors working locally.
Are there any other Welsh tutors who’d like to join us?
🌸 Weekly Round-Up! 🌸
A busy week for my tutees and their super learning!
🌟 HIGHLIGHTS 🌟
🦻 Listening for phonemes and writing their corresponding graphemes. We're getting much more confident in remembering them without visual aids!
🗣 Making a conversation using three sentence tiles at a time. This tutee and I always have a good giggle at our conversations!
🔢 Using our knowledge of bonds to 10 to find bonds to 20.
💭 Using our self-assessment skills to assess our knowledge of the first 100 "Tricky" words.
🧮 Using bead strings to help us add and subtract numbers within 20.
⚖️ Writing a balanced argument. We looked at the language of arguments and the use of a positive and negative list to help structure our arguments.
🧠 Looking at Similar Figures in some Non-Verbal Reasoning sessions this week. This tutee made great use of his SPANSS knowledge to deduce the correct answers!
✨️ AFFIRMATIONS SHARED ✨️
I am wonderful!

Hi everyone,
Tutoring life suddenly got hectic, so I've had no time to post on social media! I've been inspired by Mrs Gleeson Tutors to get back on Facebook after seeing all her lovely posts.
Here are some examples of the amazing writing two of my students have been working on over the last few lessons. We were inspired by the Pie Corbett Talk for Writing home learning booklet about mountain ogres. They also loved publishing their texts on Canva.
I hope you enjoy reading their amazing texts about circus and sea ogres 🙂
I'm still super busy with 1:1 online sessions, but I do have a few sessions free if anyone is looking for online tuition. Please feel free to get in touch using the email below.

📝Instruction Writing
This student did an excellent job of writing his own instructions in our class today. After the lesson, he even followed them to make sure he remembered all of the steps 😍

Over the last few weeks, we've been busy in the STEM club finding out about forces.
We've enjoyed learning about gravity, air resistance, buoyancy and friction during our lessons.
The students loved using Twinkl Private Tutors lesson ideas to design and make their own parachutes, explore which material floated and test materials to see which caused the most friction.
This STEM group is currently fully booked but let me know if your child would be interested in joining our new daytime STEM group.
