While Wales, England and Scotland took part in the elections yesterday, our students have been busy doing the same through a mock election here at school.

Taking part in this activity gave students a hands‑on opportunity to explore how democracy works, why voting matters, and how individual choices come together to form a result. The outcome of our mock vote reflects the most popular political party among young people in Wales, offering an interesting snapshot of student opinion. We’re incredibly proud of how seriously students engaged with the process—learning about democracy and then putting that learning into action. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make it such a valuable experience.

Now we’re eagerly looking forward to the official Senedd election results, which will be published later today. It’s an exciting day for democracy at every level! 🗳️✨

Year 12 students attended the Modern Languages debate last week, held at Cathedral School. This saw students debate and speak spontaneously in a modern language, not their home language. Congratulations to Isobel, Emily, and Rosie who debated in Spanish; and Leo and Dan who debated in French. A fantastic effort from both teams and a fantastic 1st place for our French team! Muy bien and Bien jou?!

Congratulations to our RAF Combined Cadet Force contingent who won the Wales and West Royal Air Squadron Trophy for 2026. The award is for the contingent that demonstrates the RAF values of Respect; Integrity; Service; and Excellence (RISE). A particularly notable achievement given the contingent has only been established within the last 18-month 👏🏻👏🏻
