Last summer we designed several Maths activities to share with you during the summer holidays. This year we haven't done our own activities, but been sharing some other resources instead. Here's a link to the fantastic family kits offered by National Numeracy, a national charity that champions number confidence for children and adults. The kits are completely free. I hope you like them. They also do Numeracy Tests for adults and they have a very good video explaining what dyscalculia is. I hope you get a chance to visit their website. https://www.nationalnumeracy.org.uk/free-family-maths-toolkit?fbclid=IwAR14rVWXa99eyiNG73zun641LmIJaeaZfLFHOk8pqt0Aq9HamOV_qUuzlkU

Hello, everyone. Hope you've had a nice summer break so far. Here's a Maths problem solving resource I found on BBC Bitesize. The problems get harder as you progress, so just see how far you can get, not necessarily do all questions. It's a great resource for all the family. Here's the link:

Challenge yourself with some of our favourite questions.

Get your week off with the Maths foot: here's a quiz from BBC Bitesize. It's about spotting patterns, which links to sequences, a topic your child will be doing quite a bit in years 7 through to 9.

Stretch your brain with these geometric teasers.

But, in the meantime, I thought I would share with you this link to NATIONAL NUMERACY, a charity that aims to help adults learn the Maths they need in their everyday lives. Of special interest for parents this summer break, if you follow the link, you can access their FREE FAMILY MATHS TOOLKITs. Take a look. National Numeracy has fantastic resources and their kits would definitely help you revise Maths with your children this summer. Here's the link

Rainy pre-Halloween days: while the time for trick-or-treat comes, hopefully with less rain than today, here are some matching cards for you to use at home. They are designed with the purpose of reinforcing the link between fractions and decimals (year 4 and up). Hope they help you while away the rain.
