Great results 😁

Earlier this week I finished working with a client who had a strong case of anxiety that was really getting in the way of the things they wanted to be able to do: 20/21 on the GAD-7 measure. After 5 hour-long sessions across 7 weeks that came down to 3/21.

Today I am doing my best. I have two stressful things going on which landed at the same time and I am doing my best to find out as much as I can so that I understand what it is that is best for me to do.

At times it has felt overwhelming. There are occasions where I get bubbles of stress but they are not constant because I know that I respond to the meaning I make of things as opposed to what’s going on outside of myself.

Feelings and thoughts associated with them pass in their own sweet time. I don’t need to fight against them.

I talked to someone earlier in the week and she was feeling particularly wound up by some siblings. We broke it down and she started to understand that she has a level of control and choice that she didn’t recognise initially.

Nobody outside of you can make you feel anything. That part we manage to do for ourselves and in some respects to ourselves.

We always have an element of choice, we just don’t always recognise in the moment.

Midsummer is drawing near. We may be locking down again. For some of us things feel like they’re getting a bit weird. Hang in there! The tide will turn and hopefully things will feel more stable and make more sense soon.
