In anticipation, Nursery pupils have been carefully observing life cycles in action, meeting newly hatched chicks after watching them emerge in the incubator!

Our Primary pupils have been celebrating British Science Week by exploring science through curiosity, creativity and big questions about the world around them π‘
Each year group investigated its own question:
π Nursery β Does the way food looks change how it tastes?
π§ Reception β Does toast always land butter-side down?
π©οΈ Year 1 β What is the best design for a paper aeroplane?
π Year 2 β How do bees help flowers?
π¦ Year 3 β How can you tell how old a shark is?
π₯ Year 4 β Whatβs the best way to protect important objects?
π Year 5 β What sort of vehicle would be best on the moon?
π€ Year 6 β What does great teamwork look like?
The week ended with our Big Science Question Assembly, where the Memorial Hall became a giant national grid as pupils helped demonstrate how electricity travels from power stations to our homes.

Happy International Women's Day!
To celebrate, pupils took part in a range of activities this week, including:
- House assemblies centred around this year's theme, Give to Gain
- Discussing and identifying women who inspire them during tutor time
- An empowering dance session led by Mrs Carroll
- A lunchtime stall in School House featuring displays, pledge cards and merchandise
All with the aim of exploring the significance of the day and considering how everyone can contribute to a more equal and inclusive world.
