Star Studios of Performing Arts was established in 1994 by principals Debbie Acevedo and Sharon Whellams. Star Studios of Performing Arts is now a thriving, successful Centre of Excellence for the study of various forms of Dance, Drama and Vocal skills. The Outstanding exam results regulary achieved each year, indicates the high level of tuition received by students here at the studios. Production

experience is gained at several points during the year with performances at professional theatres both locally and in London, local schools, events and festivals. Quiz time in ballet! 📚✨
We’ve been focusing on ballet terminology in class, and have been discussing why learning the vocabulary is just as important as learning the moves themselves.

It’s all well and good performing steps — but knowing the names, the meanings, and the technique behind the words helps build smarter, stronger dancers. That’s why, for the rest of the term, we’re revising, quizzing, and polishing up our ballet words.

Better knowledge = better dancing. 🩰💭

Young dancers learn best when they can see it, feel it, and connect it to something they know and love — and if there’s one thing our Little Tots adore… it’s Peppa Pig! 🐷💖

What’s more fun than jumping in muddy puddles, just like Peppa says?
Every week, Miss Elisa gets the tots jumping in our pretend muddy puddles (a.k.a. hula hoops!) and their jumps are getting bigger, stronger, and braver than ever. 🩰💦

This isn’t just cute — it’s gross motor skill development.
Jumping, bending, stretching, pushing off the floor… these are the physical foundations we need not just for dancing, but for everyday life as growing humans. 🌱✨

And in tap? We take it one step further with our splish splash shuffles — imagining little feet splashing in those same puddles to help us understand rhythm, direction, and sound. 👣💧

Using imagination = better dancers, better movers, and happier tots.
And honestly… who doesn’t love a good splishy-splashy puddle moment? 😄💛

We’ve been working on listening skills, matching rhythms, and discovering how you can make the same sound using completely different steps.

Our favourite game? One dancer creates a sound… and the next has to answer back, matching the rhythm with steps of their choice.
