👷🔨Our team are intermittently back in the office this week, preparing the classrooms and preparing new placements and current placements for our Southend and Canvey students.

📧If you need to speak to us, please, rather than call, drop us an email and we will get back to you. As you can imagine, the next couple of weeks will be particularly busy.

❗️❗️For our current parents and students, if your child is particularly nervous about coming back to us, please make sure you contact either Emma or Jenny so we can put something in place to make them feel more comfortable. ❗️❗️

And from us at FPT, let's get ready to change lives and pathways in 2026/27!

It's already week two of the summer holidays and even though the centres are shut for the summer, some of our staff are still working hard to place those students who feel isolated and that they don't belong.

The Summer holidays can be an even more isolating time of the year for some. Those children, who were making so much progress during the academic year, only fall back into previous patterns and low self-esteem.

You don't need to wait until September to contact us. If you are struggling with your child or you know somebody who has a child who is struggling, please do make contact so we can advise you on your next steps. It takes a village...remember that!

Having a rough idea on how to plan for the next academic year could make things easier for everyone.

Happy Wednesday to our followers!

We have done the raffle!

Drum roll, please......

Winners will be contacted in the order they win to be asked what their preference is for their prize.

Well done, everyone!

Today was huge success! The event, organised by our student, raised a whopping £262.50!
Including the raffle money- this brings it to £462.50- meaning that she has enough funds for her theatre trip, and that she can be a part of the jury in Witness for the Prosecution . Any excess funds, will go to a local charity.

We want to thank everyone everyone for being part of showing her that she can achieve anything, and for giving her the confidence that she lacked under a year ago.

In addition, today, when her friends arrived who also attend FPT, we saw her experience friendship and a sense of belonging. Precisely what we aim for at our centres....learning to build relationships.

We always say ....it takes a village.

Raffle will be drawn by the weekend, and results posted under the raffle post!

FPT over and out for the summer! See you in September!

Today is the day of the small summer fete at our Southend centre! The theme is Anime!

It has been organised entirely by one of our 14-year-old students who is completing her Silver Arts Awards. One of her tasks was to organise an event linked to the arts. At the same time, she is also fundraising for another part of her Arts Awards, which is to attend and review an arts event. She has chosen a fantastic London theatre production and is looking forward to it if she raises enough money.

It starts at 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

We have some cakes, we have some crafting activities, we have "throw the wet sponge at the adults", He has also made some Anime badges that can be purchased.

If you are able to show your face to help children, that struggle to attend school, that anything is possible, please do come and see us!

If you would like to buy a raffle ticket, have a look at the post below. There's some fantastic prizes. Watch this space for photos, preparations will be in our stories.

Parking- Pets at Home, or Southend car-park near the cinema- 5 minute walks :-)😀

We need your help!

At FPT, we raise aspirations, and one of our students is doing just that.

They are completing their Silver Arts Award, and for one aspect of the award they need to organise an Arts event. On the 22nd of July, we are holding a very small fair, and this student has organised it all right from the designing of the poster. If you can come along to support, please do. It takes a village to raise aspirations and self-esteem!

In addition, another aspect of the Silver Arts Award is that she needs to attend an event and review it. This particular student was out of school for a while and has flourished at our centre. She has decided that she would like to be a barrister and has been working extremely hard towards this objective. For her event, she wishes to attend Witness for the Prosecution in London, which is an interactive play whereby she can become part of the jury and fully interact with a trial. All funds raised at the fair will go towards this, and we are also putting on a raffle with the following prizes:

-3 x two tickets to Mega Play in Rayleigh
-a free MOT at Auto Medics Limited in Southend
-a £40 meal voucher for Sambuca Restaurant in Westcliff-on-Sea
-Free Sunday Dinner for a family of four at Park Tavern 2025
- a well-being hamper

All raffle tickets are £1 each. The numbers will be in the comments, and names will be added as people buy them. It would be great for people to get involved to make this happen.

Skills can be taught and developed at every opportunity.

Our cooking classes are about so much more than creating delicious treats. Along the way, our students develop valuable life skills including communication, teamwork, reading, following instructions, problem-solving and resilience.

Every recipe is a chance to build confidence, work together and celebrate success.

The best part is every now and then the FPT team are lucky enough to be asked to sample a yummy creation....and they never disappoint.

Taking that first step into a learning environment can be one of the biggest challenges for many electively home educated young people.

For some, walking through the door means facing memories of past experiences where they were told they needed to sit still, found themselves too anxious to speak or just didn't feel like they 'fitted' in a classroom environment.

At FPT, we believe learning should fit the learner. That's why we have created flexible learning spaces where students can learn in the way that suits them best.

* Prefer to stand? We have higher tables
* Prefer to sit on the floor? We have lower tables and even whiteboards that can go on the floor
* Need some quiet time but still want to take part? Grab a lap tray and settle in one of our quite working spaces to continue with your learning until you are ready to re-join the group.

We help young people develop the skills they need to learn, build confidence, feel comfortable as part of a group and most importantly, rediscover the joy of learning. Every student is supported at their own pace, in a way that works for them.

Arrange a visit to our Canvey or Southend centre and discover how we help students feel safe, supported, valued and ready to learn - at their own pace!
