Hawkesbury Pre-school has been established since 1974, and is run by highly qualified and experienced professionals. We offer flexible sessions (mornings, afternoons, and full day sessions) for all 2, 3 and 4 year olds (Free Funding available for all eligible children). Staff include qualified teachers with Early Years Specialism, nurture specialists, well qualified Special Educational Needs Co-or

dinators, and Equality Co-ordinators. We have a warm and stimulating environment covering all areas of the curriculum through play and children's interests from which we extend their learning. We feel it is important that ratios of adults to children are high to ensure a safe and interactive environment providing endless learning opportunities. We are an inclusive preschool who support the needs and abilities of all 2,3 and 4 year olds. Come and visit us/ FREE taster session by appointment where available.

It's never too early to book in a visit and come see us here at Hawkesbury Preschool.
We take children from the age of 2 years, right up to when they start reception.
We offer flexible sessions and take all levels of funding.
So if your child is 2 or will be turning 2 years of age, get in touch and come meet the team!

Sports Week Day 5 – Beanbag Toss

Today the children took part in some beanbag toss games.

We had beanbags thrown into the bucket, working on the children’s hand and eye co-ordination.

We had a competition to see who could throw their beanbag the furthest down the garden from the start line.

We also did a ball and target toss, encouraging the children to throw the ball at the target and see what number they landed on.

The children moved round the various stations with their friends, having a go at each of the beanbag themed activities.

Well done to everyone who took part over the course of this week. We’ve had a fantastic sports week, and a big thank you to everyone who has already sent in their sponsor money.

Sports Week Day 4 – Sack Race

Today the children took part in a sack race, down the length of the garden.
We all took it in turns to race against each other, whilst our peers cheered us on!

It was so much fun but a little tricky too! Some of us were able to jump really well in the sacks, whilst others tried to cheat and run in the sack to get there quicker, and some of us couldn’t move far at all from laughing too much watching the others ‘jump along’! 🤣

⚽️ Sports Week day 3 – Penalty Shootout ⚽️

Today we are testing the children’s gross physical skills and their co-ordination through some games of penalty shootout.
All children are taking it turns to have 5 shots at the goal (against their key person or another familiar adult).
We had so much fun standing on the side lines and cheering on our friends, especially when they scored a goal!

Sports Week day 2 – Egg and Spoon Race 🥚🥄
Yesterday the children took part in an egg and spoon race. All children took it in turns, racing against each other in a small group of 3/4. The children lined up on the starting line and we all stood on the side lines, counting them down to start and cheering them on as they raced across the finish line, carefully balancing their eggs.

Today marks the start of our ‘Sports Week’.⚽️

Over the course of the week, all children will have the chance to join in with various sporting activities.
Today we are kicking it off with an obstacle course.
Whilst carrying out the obstacle course, we are pretending that we are pirates, overcoming obstacles in the hunt for our treasure!
The children have been tasked of following the circuit as carefully as they can, ensuring they don’t fall off into the ‘water’ where the hungry crocodiles await!
The children have to:
* climb the castle steps,
* go down the slide,
* across the balancing beams,
* onto the pirate ship sea-saw for 10 ‘rows across the sea’.
* onto the stepping stones – going from one to another steadily as they increase in size and height!
* a big jump into the hoops… all 3 of them!
* then a final big jump to safety on ‘land’.

A quick rest and a drink from all that hard work, then we do it all over again!

SEND Drop In and stay and play sessions.
Please see details below for information on the upcoming SEND Stay and Play sessions and SEND Drop in sessions. Please note your child does not have to have a diagnosis for you to attend these sessions. They are open to all and a great opportunity for parents/ carers to talk to specialists and professionals, as well as other parents/ carers.
