We are looking forward to welcoming you back to Lilliput Preschool. You will notice the church is undergoing some repairs, we are open as normal but please take care around the entrance and car park area. Please note parking is not available on site.

Tomorrow Friday 17 July 2026 is our last day of term, we will be closed until Monday 7 September 2026.
We wish you all a wonderful summer and to our school leavers the best of luck we look forward to seeing your first day pictures

Dear Parents/Carers

With the continuing hot weather, we wish to reassure you all that we are doing lots of things to keep your little ones safe in the sun.

We will continue to have short bursts in the garden under the shade of the tree, increased drink stops, more time in our air conditioned classroom. Regular water play including dipping feet in the paddling pool, water squirters/misting. On particularly hot days we will supply ice poles.

Suncream will be reapplied at lunchtime (we expect that every child has suncream on before arrival to preschool).

We have been teaching the children about sun safety including the importance of sun hats, suncream, t- shirts to cover shoulders, keeping hydrated and safe play in the garden.

Dear Parents /Carers

Hope you are bearing well in the heat.
To help our children to stay safe in the sun we have been having lots of cool water activities such as paddling pool , water sprays , washing babies and discussing floating and sinking with the boats.

We have been spending lots of time in our air conditioned classroom and having regular drink breaks. We have also been discussing how to keep safe in the sun using suncream, sun hats , T-shirts and lots of water to drink.

Dear parents /carers

As the warmer weather is here please ensure you apply suncream to your child before preschool.

For those children that stay all day we will apply our suncream at lunchtime.

Additionally please supply a sun hat as we will be out in the garden.

Finally please make sure children are wearing t-shirts that fully cover the shoulder and tops of arms as this helps to protect their shoulders from sunburn.

We will monitor the amount of time the children are in the sun, have breaks in our air conditioned class room and regular drink breaks.

We will also monitor for signs of heat related illness.

Yesterday we had a mobile farm visiting us here at Lilliput Preschool, the children had the opportunity to interact with various different farm animals and learn about their care. The children met ducks, a pony, a donkey, pigs, rabbits and even walked goats ! We hope the children enjoyed the experience and told you all about it when they got home
