We are proud to have made it to the final stage of the Asda Youth/Food Poverty Individual Topic Competition. Here is 2 of our members pitching EcoFeast at Asda House in Leeds.
Cookery classes aimed to bring the local community together. The aim is to provide a weekly interaction for the elderly to reduce levels of loneliness.
Students learning how to cook and bake from the elderly, preserving global food waste by using surplus supermarket food. Willing students will pay to learn the art of cooking and baking from two different elderly individuals each week on a rota. The students and elderly will then eat the food that is cooked together to provide an opportunity for more interaction. The ingredients sourced for the cookery courses will be surplus supermarket food.
