‘Selling water to the sated: exploring the role of Roman archaeology in transforming public perceptions of Canterbury’s water supply’

This paper will explore how perceptions of water are greatly affected by historical narratives and the creation of a sense of place. In turn, it will propose that greater awareness of the archaeological evidence of Roman Canterbury could play a role in changing public perceptions of the city’s modern water supply and inspire greater community engagement in meaningful sustainability reforms.
