The University is offering on campus Meningitis vaccine clinics, alongside options through local GP’s and pharmacies.
The vaccine needs to be given in 2x doses, 4-weeks apart.
Everyone’s situation will be different - some may have already had both vaccines, some only one and others none at all. Check with your GP if you are unsure what vaccines you have had.
Autumn vaccination clinic dates are:
Thurs 1st and Fri 2nd October: 10am-4pm in the Senate Building on Canterbury campus. This is for the Men B vaccine. No booking needed - drop-in session. Will be doing 1st and 2nd doses.
Weds 7th October at the University Medical Centre on the Canterbury Campus. Call 01227 469333 to book. This is for the Men B vaccine. You don’t need to be a registered patient to book.
Friday 9th October at the University Medical Centre on the Canterbury Campus. Call 01227 469333 to book. This is for the MenACWY and is for eligible students under 25 years old.

For Men B use a pharmacy walk-in clinic - including the Giles Lane pharmacy on the Canterbury Campus.
For MenACWY you can book an appointment with your local GP.
Meningitis can develop quickly and can be serious. The University is working with the NHS, the UK Health Security Agency, Meningitis Now and the Meningitis Research Foundation to make information and vaccine access for students easier. The on-campus clinics are part of the University’s wider work to support student health and wellbeing.
If you’re not sure whether you are eligible for a vaccine, or what dose you might need, speak to your GP, a participating pharmacy, or the University Medical Centre before attending a vaccination clinic.
