If your child is new to the school and hasn't worn a tie before, then perhaps a little school tie practice this weekend would be useful, to help them feel more confident when having to tie their tie and to ensure a smart appearance.

Dr Obote College Non-Uniform Days
Each year we hold five non-uniform days in support of our Ugandan link school, Dr Obote College.
In the past, students opting to ditch their school uniform for the day contributed £2 cash on the day. This year we are introducing payment via Wisepay, to avoid the termly scramble for loose change and misplaced coins. A one-off payment of £10 will cover our five Dr Obote College non-uniform days, including Christmas jumper day.

The Wisepay payment link, which can be found in the Fundraising section, is named 'Dr Obote College non-uniform'. The link will remain open until Monday 5 October, with our first non-uniform day scheduled for Friday 9 October.

Sixth form students are encouraged to contribute, with many opting to dress in themed clothes on the day, coordinated by the Head of Sixth Form and their tutors.

Protect your child and others from flu this winter

The School Immunisation Service will be visiting the Langton on 25th November 2026. You should have received a letter from the school which includes further information and a link for you to give consent, please can we ask that you complete the consent whether or not you wish for your child to receive the vaccination.

The below message is from the Immunisation Team.
We have updated our online consent system. Please give either a YES or DECLINE consent. We will continue to invite your child for vaccination unless we receive a response from you and if we don’t hear back, a member of our team may contact you by phone to request verbal consent.

Discuss this immunisation with your child and complete the before 4pm on 20th November 2026 and complete the seasonal flu form.

Langton Fiesta! – Postponed & Expanding

We have decided to postpone our upcoming Langton Fiesta! so we can bring you an even bigger, bolder, and more spectacular evening later in the school year.

While we were excited to host you this October, we want to ensure this event delivers the absolute best experience possible. We are taking a little extra time to expand our lineup with even more live music, an extended menu of traditional Spanish and Latin foods, and spectacular dance demonstrations.

Watch this space for our rescheduled date... the Langton Fiesta! will return bigger and better than ever!

Moon gazing event:

On the evening of Friday 18th September, we celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with a special moon gazing event that brought together culture, community, and astronomy. Although the cloudy and rainy weather prevented us from observing the moon through the big telescope, participants still enjoyed a rich program of activities.
The evening featured a culturally rich introduction to the festival, captivating Chinese performances, and hands-on experiences with traditional Chinese calligraphy and chopsticks competition. Guests were also fascinated by the “Moon Talk” and the chance to try out the astronomy equipment kindly provided by the Kent Astronomy Society. In the evening, one of the highlights of the celebration was the Mid-Autumn Card Competition Award Ceremony for primary school students. The winners and their parents were delighted, thrilled, and full of pride as they received their prizes. Adding to the festive spirit, the school PTFA organized a raffle that was warmly supported and helped raise an impressive amount of funds.
