JSDI is dedicated to researching the use of facility dogs and their impact on vulnerable victims
JSDI encompasses work surrounding support that dogs provide to vulnerable individuals. This includes work of our justice facility dog, Oliver, working in the Criminal Justice System and therapy dog, Poppy, working on topic relating to well.

One of the many places Oliver visits is the Pears building, part of Kent and Medway Medical School. The stats on stress in medical students are something else entirely but Oliver always makes an impact.

We're currently hard at work analysing the data from our most recent study investigating potential jury bias with the use of facility dogs in courts. We can't wait to share the research! Oliver did a stellar job acting for the video clips used in this research.

Sad and shocked to read that less than 2% of rapes reported in England and Wales in 2022 have resulted in a charge or court summons. More must be done to reform the criminal justice system and help victims/survivors go through the process. (Source: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66132619)

What's Oliver up to over the next week? When he's not being spoilt by Liz, Oliver will be visiting the Kent and Medway Medical School to help students with their wellbeing and spread the news about the important work he does.
